Fantastic color choices. I was expecting to see a really dark purple, with a dark green, but the bright vibrant purple and green went very well together.

I think the no chain would look best myself. She is suppose to be the master, and as such should be excellent on the skyboard.

Well, if she was the master, then you'd think that she'd have enough experience to tell her to use a chain! But, in the world of 40k, where the best of Mankind's greatest warriors like to show their boldness (I mean baldness) by not wearing a helmet, it makes total sense.

Maybe have a chain wrapped around her wrist...

So I Painted my first hellion today. Purple Rain Purple Rain!
I also changed the photo back drop to grey so the blues show up better







I'm trying to keep detailing to a minimum so that I can paint them quickly.
So what do you think good or too basic?
from here on I'll be painting them in batches of five.

to me its a bit basic, some more detail picked out (eg. the studs on her right leg) would improve the look...

As for the colour scheme, I saw your first models and felt queasy, but then once you finished them up they look FANTASTIC! The vibrant green & purple with the white skin really makes them look like sadistic ganger druggie skybitches. Which is what they are. Look forward to seeing more pix

As for the hellion test model, it is too basic, BUT you are doing 45. I would do the whole army to that level and then see what you think. The only thing that actually bothers me about the test model is the lack of distinction between board and rider. This could change if you add different colours to the boards, or paint them a different colour (black or something). But thats a big ask, so no worries. I can't wait to see more!

It looks good but personally i would add some metal somewhere. The blades in particular. I also agree that the foot-skyboard colour looks too similar. Any way you could darken the skyboard colour?

I think a little more detail would be good, but as ibushi said, you could do all of them to this standard first to see how it looks. Even if its just the studs on the arms and legs, I think it will make a big difference.

I think this is looking something really special. Really think the idea of super heros, or should that be super heroins or super villainessesis inspired and looking very striking.

I've also ordered two talos kits, but not sure if they'll fit the army... The only thing they'll have in common with the Girls is a flight stand, If I don't use them here I'll convert them to blight drones for my nurgle forces.

All the blue bits have been given a extra highLight of Ice blue, I think this helps with the comic book look.

They look great, the extra blue highlight definitely helps. Still feel there should be more of a difference between armour and skyboards though, obviously thats just imo.

Those look amazing. I'm gonna have to agree with Vitruvian, those boards could use a little more detail.

Thought on the skin: Some of the models have a very apparent purplish skintone.

thanx guys, the chicks and skyboard are going to stay the same colour for ease of painting.
I've been debating giving the boards a badab black wash.. But I also think that this kinda helps with the purple theme... plus it's normal for wargear and camouflage / army colour to match...

Panic, you are kicking my arse. This is looking super-sweet, and the colours are (surprisingly) really, really cool. I was sceptical at first, but the lime green is popping right off the screen.

I ordered 100 x 25mm disks, 15 x 40mm disks and 15 x 60mm disks for £22-50 including postage. nice! No basing required so they save time and are fairly cheap.
I've been sticking the girls down with super glue and so far have minimal mess around their feet.
Athough I ruined a base with a super glue smear... so it's probabily best to over order.

whoa! some sexy bases in that thread, I completely missed it! It looks like they are just starting out.
the force is strong with them!

I wonder if I can get some pain tokens made up for the girls? I'll hit them with a PM later.

Also my next army is going to be necrons, if they produce some necron tech looking designs I'd love to see how they come out with a green or blue wash to pull he design out!

the skyboard rider with the weapon behind their back has backwards arms.....

very solid and unique color scheme, well executed.

if i have one piece of advice, i would say that it would really help the riders "pop" if you had some kind of other contrasting color on the body somewhere, like on little details, to really set off the purple. my 2 cents.
