I'm surprised he didn't get the code name wolverine. Having said that, pics of wolverine might offer additional inspiration for poses

Morgrim looks awesome but how is the terminator held in place? Maybe hammer big metal spikes though him or tie him on with barbed wire?

I prefer the stick bomb chucker on the bottom but I think if you do that you will still need something on top.

Great game. At the current rate I should win the next one Although I was glad to find that list was successful (I wouldn't have called it very competitive but I may be wrong)...

Soooo long since my last post... I prefer to lead my posts with more progress, but it is not yet to be. I've changed jobs, so Da Dark Angelz have made their way up to Edinburgh - no more Coventry for me! And then we got a new pet squig, er, dog, as Da Boss' passed away recently. (Plans for the new puppy were actually in progress previously... so at least that part worked out well...) I've been around DakkaDakka, but it's about time I responded to my own thread!

moonshine wrote:What about if you pose him to look like he is lunging forward and stabbing somebody, one arm stretched formward and the other recoiled back. Or you could go with a pose that like Morgrims. Or if you want a challenge you could pose him to look like he is killing a dark angel and is showing of the kill (an arm in the air with an impaled dark angel on it and the other held back)

Oh and for your Gretchin, you could use Malifauxs "Som'er Teeth jones" if you replaced the head and bottle in his hand.
All good ideas, but ones I might act on another time. Also, I'm trying to no completely overdo the dead/dying Dark Angels on every miniature I'll have to check out the Malifaux miniature at some point...

I've been saving that for a Nob Warbiker...

Thanks! That *is* the idea!

The Terminator armour has been fused into a shield - it is supposed to be more stylistic than an *actual* terminator (well, it *was* and actual terminator at some point...), but I still have more detailing to do to bring it together - spikes, chains, barbed wire, rivets etc are all in the toolbox abiding their time (I may not use all of them in the end though...) I'm still making a decision on the Stikkbomb Chukka position. I think I prefer underneath too, but he just spent a game with it on top (no blu-tac needed!) and it's growing on me...

It was a great game - 5 turns, close, and could have swung either way with equal amounts of good luck, bad luck and average luck to keep it interesting. I'll be talking to the Big Mek about the Mega-armour - the Meganobz did very well but were let down by their equipment (they must have rolled like over a dozen 1s for armour saves and to wound rolls!) Next game should be even better!

Apparently the GW Edinburgh staff were awed by some of my conversions - Morgrim, Meganob Codename: War Machine and Artsoldier35's Trukk in particular...

Very nice, love the banner and slung shoota. Your namesake? He's an advisor?

edit: No, that would make him Snikrot wouldn't it.

@SilverMK2: I could say *your* body looks a bit big for his head It is the Forgeworld Kommando Nob head on the GW Kommando Nob body - looks fine in person. Of course, the actual Ork head is hidden under all of that respirator gear, which might be making it look bigger than it should be...

@monkeytroll: Close. Not an advisor, definitely not Snikrot...

Better pics, green stuff, some brass etch, what more could you want? No wind or rain so I can basecoat already!

Well played sir, well played

The new pictures are better - I think it was just because I did a quick scan of the model before, but now I come to look at it more closely it is much better. I love the idea of him standing on the top of a hill with the moon behind just so the enemy can see him in the half light and fear him.

Kind of like an Ork Batman

Looking good. And now I've added some brass glyphs to my ever-increasing list of things I need.

All I know of Arakasi is he was a spy master, so I'm out of guesses, unless he's just a nob and his load-out reflects the name. Presuming of course I was right in thinking that was his name

And now we expect to see the final painted pics posed in front of the moon

Wonder is he has a respiratory problem like Darth Vader.

Love the head swap on the Kommando Nob. Changes the whole feel of the model. Didn't even realize it was that model at first.

Like always great stuff.

@SilverMK2: Thanks!

@monkeytroll: Full moon now postponed to the 17th

@whalemusic360: Yup. Though the restrictions are starting to grate on me... This *is* cheap ass for me - made up of bitz I have left lying around that I don't have any immediate use for. And completed (building) in 3 or 4 days. I'm sure yours will be great too!

@schank23: Thanks! The Meganob Powerklaw arm probably helped to throw you off too...

Wow thats all i can really say, I am pretty creative but this is a whole new level of awesome! Is the Nob with the banner going to be your WAAAGH Banner? Those FW heads are really slick.

So with all the awesome creativity (fluff, batreps conversions and what not) I'll wave the paint some thing banner I know you will get it done soon though i have faith!

Not my Waaagh! Banner - but I could in a pinch - he just isn't one of da Dark Angelz...

As for paint - everything is on hold while I try to get him fully painted for the 17th. Skin is done, grey is in progress (I should post another pic...) - he is doubling as an experiment in how long it takes me to go from zero to one hundred percent on a single mini. If I'm successful, I may just then concentrate on finishing my Big Mek!

Sadly, all this painting (and life) is once again getting in the way of modelling - Trukks, Meganobz, Morgrim...

@alabamaheretic: He probably *would* make an excelloent Waaagh! Banner guy Don't worry - it's still fun - just still slow (slower than usual lately - but that's just real life getting in the way...)

@slice'n'dice: Thanks! Me too

@bigfish: It is definitely a long endeavour - we played that game, beginning of July? (Though I've only been writing it up this last week...) And there are two more to come, and then Imperial Monkey's... I made a commitment (to myself) way back at the beginning that I would write all my battle reports up so I could better see my progress over time. That and I don't get to play as many games as I'd like - so I figured I'd have time to write each one up (yeah - I know - go figure... but it's faster than my painting!)

Very cool concept. It makes sense too that orks would mimic space marines with their armor and regal-ness. I especially like the warboss. Keep up the good work!
