Mine didn't show the date too much but it showed the Dakka Painting Challenge thread on the background.

I suppose that's enough to prove that the picture actually was taken after the the contest was anounced.

Depending on what kind of camera you have, it may include the date of shot automatically. I was wondering (and worrying) about this too, then someone pointed out to me that pretty much all of the photos in the gallery already have that information next to them.

EXIF data does not prove a date, as it is easily edited and changed. Simply setting the wrong date on the camera or the right software would "prove" the date.

It's like writing a date on something would prove when it was created. And if you believe that, I have some genuine 16th century printings of Harry Potter that you might like to buy.

Spent a fair amount of time just touching up now that I can actually see what I'm painting. Still, I'd say I'm around a third/halfway done. Just a lot of work to go.

I hear that, natural light is always best. Ages ago, I used to paint with a crummy incandescent desk lamp with a 60 watt bulb in a dark basement. Talk about eye strain! You should check out your local hardware store and see what kind of cheap fluorescent light you can get...it's a worthwhile investment and your eyes will thank you in the long run.

My entry is mostly finished as of this afternoon! My first infinity model painted, and they are so cool!

Been reading on the Internet how to make a light box. Gotta find a good cardboard box behind the grocery store tomorrow to make it out of.
Unfortunatly somethings wrong with my camera. Put new batteries in tonight and it still won't even turn on I hope I don't have to use my wifes I phone camera.

Yeah, I just got a light box as a birthday present from those who love me, so I'm super excited. It came with little studio lights and everything!

Naturally I had to mess with the thing right away!

The difference is huge. Having a nice smooth background makes you focus completely on the model, and the lack of clutter is nice. It came with these two little studio lights with 50 watt whatsit bulbs... like the little studio lights you'd have in a display case. They work alright, but I'm thinking I need to be both A) Brighter, and B) Whiter. They're rather obviously yellowish, and it's frustrating. But it was good practice messing with the box.

I snapped a photo of the Mag, and out of everything, it was definitely the most photogenic... even just primered black it looks totally BA.

See?

Hope everyone’s painting is going well.

It's worth it man... once I get the lighting sorted out this thing is going to be awesome. And for that all I really need is some cheap stand lights and some daylight bulbs and BAM done.

Dunno how much it cost, but it can't be more than 40 or 50 bucks for the box itself. The thing is pretty tough quality, and it folds up all portable-like, so I can carry it around, which is swell for doing shoots elsewhere... I'll probably bring it with me over my friend's place and take some shots of his Ariadna for you guys to check out. They're pretty hot.

I managed to get mine assembled at last. Ended up on a bit of an Infinity terrain-building kick, today, so I've not even basecoated the mini yet!

I guess one thing that bothers me is that I didn't convert mine because I have no experience in converting metal (don't have the right tools nor the GS skills) and it just doesn't feel like the work is truly mine. Do you guys get that when you don't convert a miniature?

Yeah, I looked at doing a simple arm swap, but some of the models have shoulders as part of the torso, while others have them on the arms.

I really didn't feel like cutting up my first models as I am not confident that I could GS in the fine details that Infinity models have.

It is strange having essentially uni-pose models after so long making GP multi-pose models, and so much time converting and kit bashing them. One of the reasons that I am putting on more interesting bases is to try and make them more unique.

I try to make them unique through their paint schemes.

I'm the kinda guy that will be damned if he paints something 'by the box'... so I get my kicks painting up my own schemes and going crazy in those regards.

Scultping figs into different poses is completely beyond me. I have zero sculpting talent. The advent of LGS as a gap filler was a godsend to me. Especially with these models.

I did the base today. As in making in, not painting it. First time I've ever tried using plasticard.... I just hope it is clear enough to show what I was going for, it's kind of... a mess really.

No mods to the mini for mine (is that giving it away? doesn't sound like it) - just have to differentiate with paint and base

After completing the model last night, there was glorious sunshine today - but of course, I dropped the mini and it needed some touch ups tonight.... doh!

Done *again*. Managed to knock it over, but not drop it, hopefully should be good for photography tomorrow (weather permitting...)

Really looking forward to see the range of entries this time around - it sounds really popular!

In the process of base coating mine. I chose a very difficult mini to go with but it just looked so utterly badass I couldn't resist! These really are some of the very best minis out there right now.

I hope there won't be too much given towards conversions :< I'm not the best of modellers >w< I'm still waiting for my stuff to arrive, kind of at an awkward place given how nothing has arrived for me yet!
