The chapel window is an interesting idea for a gun-shield. There definately needs to be a pair of large flame based weapons prodtruding from those windows.

Nothing cleans like fire. Not even the tough stains of heresy can stand up to the cleansing power of the Emperor's eternal flame.

Weeeeeeeeeee worked on the superheavy a bit more. It has the beginnings of a cockpit now:

I'll be adding some plasticard to bring it more in like with what will be my other bubble canopies:

Heavy bolters need to be switched around so that they aren't ejecting shell casings into the canopy...the inside will be fleshed out a bit more...

Anyway, off to go play a game or so with the rest of the army.

I've been working on the big tank, promise! I'll try to work on it a bit more today too. In the meantime, an interlude brought about by boredom.

Finally got enough work done to warrant taking some new pictures. I have pretty much the whole superstructure planned out at this point, although none of it's glued together yet.

The plan now is to have an open box behind the big window so I can magnetize the main gun(s) in and out. Above that will be a platform for the canoness to stand on, making the whole superstructure sort of a pulpit/chariot front sort of thing. Kill two birds with one stone, right? The whole superstructure is being assembled so I can pop it off of the rest of the tank though, which'll come in handy once I get to painting everything. The immolator multi-melta turrets are magnetized now, and I drilled through the heavy flamer mounting posts (much harder than I thought it would be) and now have them mounted on brass rods. I've been cutting down two more of the low CoD walls to put on top of the wall segments with the heavy flamers in them. I'm not quite sure yet how I'm going to tie all the side pieces together though.

Alright, I've made a thread in the proposed rules section on a datasheet for this thing.

And some more progress pics! The main superstructure is all glued now, but still needs the balcony level done. I'll be cutting a new piece for that because the current one doesn't fit very well. Also needs stairs up to that level, and the whole rear, sides, and very front needs to be finished. Then GS cleanup and detailing everywhere. I'm kind of torn on adding a roof to the lower troop compartment. But on to the pics:

Sadly, it looks like I definitely won't have it completely finished because the big Apoc game is tomorrow morning, and I'm no wizard. But I might try to run it anyway, because most of what it lacks now is detailing, and it's not like the rest of the army is finished yet. There'll be another big apoc battle towards the end of the league though, so hopefully I'll be able to have it completely done by then.

UPDATE.

I had my apoc game on the fourth. It was a ton of fun, and my forces had a strong start. I lost focus in the middle of the game though and didn't do too much for the last half. And my tank ended up getting immobilized by Angrath in a pretty crappy position, so it didn't do too much for the last part of the game either. Oh well. A few pics of my woefully unpainted forces at the beginning and end of the game.

Afterwards, I was inspired enough to go out and make a couple orders. So now I have a few more vehicles to work on!

Forge world got here a LOT faster than I thought it would. And nothing appears to be horribly miscast! Maybe I just got lucky.

I've started painting 4 of the battle sister squads, and got a bit more done on the big tank, but don't have any pics of those at the moment.

Thanks, I guess? The model and datasheet were approved by the game organizer. That's pretty much as legal as things get, especially in apoc which specifically encourages kitbashed and scratchbuilt models. It'll be finished in time, anyway. Hopefully before the next big battle.

Hey sportsfans. Progress on the bigger stuff is postponed because I'm moving to a new apartment soon. I have had a bit of time to work on one or two things though. Here's one of them! A Celestine conversion using a couple different models.

The leg area is from Privateer Press's Harbinger of Menoth. I love that PP has what amounts to a bits service. I picked up the legs and a single Khador Widowmaker for pretty cheap. As a bit of planning for the celestine model, I'm considering a couple different options. One is to do the base up in flames and whatnot. It would seem fitting. The other is to mimic the original Harbinger model though, seen here:

However, instead of using the little cloaked dudes, I think I might have her being escorted by repentia, and basically just having chains replace their eviscerators. Let me know what y'all think.

I also plan on giving her wings, and I've got two options right now, but I'm willing to look into others. I'm a big fan of the current ones though because of the crazy amount of detail and dynamism they have, which I find most miniatures wings to lack. So here they are. Wings from Reaper's Deva:

Or wings of an unknown make that I picked up at GenCon last year from a discount bits tray. If anyone knows where they DO come from, I'd love to know.

Too big? They seem pretty huge, but when compared to the first set, the actual wingspan isn't too much larger. I'm also toying with the idea of using both, plus a smaller set somewhere to go for the whole 6-winged seraphim imagery. THAT would be a bit much though, I think.

Let me know what you think, anyway. Always up for some creative input.

This will be awesome to see finished, I'd have to put my hat in for the mystery make wings. Their bigger and thus more impressive and all the more inspiring for the Sisters in her crusade to destroy heresy as well as elegant and angelic.

I've got to say, I like the mystery wings better myself, and they definitely would've been far too big if I hadn't gone for harbinger legs/base They're going to be interesting to attach though, as the mounting points take up pretty much her whole back. So even more difficult to attach convincingly. Maybe I'll stick a sanguinary guard jump pack behind them for good measure.

Looking great personally I'd either go for the Smaller Wings on the Jump Pack if you want pretty wings. If you want them to look like magic wings I'd go for the second pair. They're far too big bullet magnets if they've not got a reason......

Well, it's been a very long time since I've updated this. Sorry it's taken so long. I have actually done some work, even through moving and whatnot. Unfortunately in the move I also seem to have misplaced my superheavy Hopefully I'll manage to find it soon.

Here's what's been done though. Sorry for the blurry pictures, unsteady hands are a pain in macro mode. I'm looking at going out and getting a cheap tripod for pics this weekend, if I can't find the one I used for an ill-fated antenna project a few years back.

Uriah Jacobus conversion based on a Storm of Magic necromancer. Done for the Pimp My Sorcerer open contest. I'm rather pleased with it, but definitely need to work on the banner some more.

Celestine's been pinned together at the waist, and has a new spear-wielding arm in process and a torch-wielding hand in the works. Also hollowed out two spare SoB helmets from an immolator kit and cut and glued them together until I got a helmet that vaguely looks like it has an open visor

I'm trying to go at least vaguely for the feel of this sculpture here of the Roman goddess Bellona

And that's affected modelling choices too-

Wikipedia wrote:Bellona's attribute is a sword and she is depicted wearing a helmet and armed with a spear and a torch.

This thread here got me back into working on her, and as part of that I need to come up with some fluff for her. I think name-wise I want to do something relating to Bellona, while trying to avoid Twilight references. I'm thinking 'Bellanya' at the moment but I'm not set on it. It draws references to related ancient Greek goddess Enyo, and a bit to Arya from Game of Thrones, who is awesome. From what I've read/watched so far anyway.

In any case, the contest has a requirement of weekly updates so I'll be updating progress here as well. Someone should keep these contests going so I stay motivated

I've also done some work and acquired more models for my Angels Revenant (Blood Angels), which I may update to this blog at some point too. Very similar black/bone color schemes, with more of a focus on the undead and hopefully a few cool counts-as characters.
