Are the core rules enough to play the game? As they are in the box? Where are those pictures from.

Edit ignore the question on gw new. Zealand it clearly states you have to buy the rules too.

Gosh, people will whine about anything now a days.

Yes, do some conversions, and come on down and join my old IG army that was physically mangled by a GW judge and then told 'Now they're OK to play'.

So, pardon me if I still have some negative feelings about that. I was never so overjoyed as when I heard that GW was no longer running tournaments.

Wait a sec, what do you mean a GW Judge mangled your models?????! What the heck?

I would hope that, if the story isn't a lie, the judge got a letter from a lawyer describing exactly how much he was going to be paying for the damage and/or a punch in the face.

More on-topic: having a single no-customization squad for 40k is dumb as hell, especially when the weapon choices are so terrible, but they should make some nice conversion fodder for turning into real guardsmen. Maybe veterans, or a storm trooper squad?

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

This is likely a one-off weapon, but is there a possibility that the rotor cannon might make it's way from 30k to 40k?

They look flashy enough to be scion replacements to me, even if not *quite* heavy enough. I little green stuff to expand the armor should do the trick I think

Interesting review.
Though I do struggle when someone who reviews things pronounces things wrong.
Gellerpox just grates every time he says it

Good to see the new rules, definitely powered highly to make you want them, on both sides

Nothing terribly OP there. Happy with the Gellerpox mutants, but some fun stuff if you wanted to chuck them in your army. It think the limit to any real silly ness is the limitation on unit size. Can’t buy 6 boxes to increase the unit size if you found some nasty loop hole. This sets a great precedent for upcoming releases. Can’t wait to see what the future holds.

I've just put my pre-order in with Element Games. I can't believe we're getting a Rogue Trader faction.

I really want the Nurgle half. They are phenomenal for rpg.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I really hate this current trend of doing reviews in video form. I understand that it is the only way kids these days can absorb information as they apparently don't know how to read or write, but it is really tiresome to go through a hour long video for the amount of information that could be read in couple of minutes.

Agreed. I understand some people might want to have it on as background noise while painting or whatever but I really don't want to spend like a quarter of my off hours in a day listening to someone talking about rules. Give me the option to read it and we can all be happy campers

I'd say the Rogue Trader side of the box'd be pretty good for the RT RPG as well.

Going to have to preorder, luckily should be in the UK to grab it from a discounter the week of release rather than the extra euro tarrif from GW (which isn't as bad as some places, but still).

Regarding video reviews. More likely to do with the increased opportunities of raising your personal brand or monetisation via clicks than anything to do with anyone's reading or writing skills.

Nothing quite like listening to someone smacking his gobs or rambling through a video without any prep for ages. Mind, haven't clicked the one linked a few posts back, but it's about the norm really.

Decided to preorder it along with a novel I've been itching to get. I am quite liking the free upgrade to express shipping on these big box releases as of late. Just don't order any spray paints with them if you're outside the UK..

Those sprues look like they'd be a beast to work with. GW's hate for kitbashing and 3rd party bits rears it's head again.

The non-GW parts on the better part of a squad of female cadians with Phoenix Club bits. I still have a Sargent that I havn't put back together again, since.

Yes second option was delivered. Four or five times. and then I started using the bag of books. Along with a chair. And then a table. and then some people restrained me. and then I was banned from certain cons for several years. I havn't been to one since, now that I think about it.

There's two pages of rules with some tactics and traits applicable to the two leader models in the set. It's not a build your own system which is a little disappointing.

Nah, nothing good. They're very much a 'Regiments of Renown' type thing rather than full codex or warlords worth taking.

Nurgle +3 CP
Strides +3 CP
They can only be spent on GPOX or Strider stratagems.

So you're saying they're two small forces that could be used as a starter component for someone getting into 40k?

How many points are the small Gellarpox stuff? Can you do a Nurgling and little beastie Kill Team, or are the Hulks compulsory choices to get to 100?
