Finally got some pics of my land raider. Everything on the chassis is done (except a bit of hard edgeing on the engine I noticed in pics). Time to get the guns done and put this in the finished pile.





Question for the one or two people reading this, as I go back and do touchups and highlighting, do you want me to post pics of them as well? Ive never taken pics of most of them, so they would be like new to you.

Sure, as you say it's new to us. Not so bothered if it's just a 'missed a spot under the armpit and have now touched it up', but stuff like highlights, slight colour change, tidying up of areas I'd like to see.

Well, I was going to wait untill tomorrow so it showed up fresh and new, but whatever.
Land Raider is finished, 4 down 3 to go, ugh. I still have to detail Land Raider 1-1 and Land Raider Helios 1-1, as well as make a Land Raider in Deathwing colors, a LR Terminus Ultra, and another Crusiader in DW colors.



Also touched up a scout. Redid the face to not-suck and edged the green.

I love your Dark Angels! I really hope they get a new dex someday. When is construction going to start on the spruegon? (Trygon) OH OH! I could really use a Spruevigon if you have the time

How did you do the eyes on the scout above this post? Mine always end up looking like sloth from the Goonies...

We've been messing with some more sprueanids, I think they may need their own thread. Really want to get a bunch of the clear sprues from Valk, fire prism etc.

I have an Army painted (I think) Insane Detail brush coupled with like 359 trys. Mostly the brush tho.

I'll have to get a brush like that so this stops happening to me...

Seriously, nice cean job on the LR and love the contrast... and the scout does look good. Excellent job re-painting the head.

So we played a game last nite and for some reason 5 of my models decided to fall apart (and I rolled crappy, but still won). I figured it would be a good time to touch up the DA, so heres them:





Also, I decided to take today off. For some reason I started painting a dread that I had primed for months and months and just kept going. Its got a few bits from the Ven Dred kit on him. I also have abunch of other weapons to paint, but they can wait. The scarab was an experiment to see what my Necrons would look like if I ever start some. I figure that I will get some of the clear blue rods to replace the green ones and do a winterish kind of em. Someday.........

They look good! I really like the dread. You should def do a blue necron army! I really like the scarab.

Also, where do the plates with battles' names come from? Are they part of the Ven Dread kit?
Either way, that makes for a truly awesome "memorial" aspect to the Dread... Nice!

Yup the leg plate and guns with the words are from the Ven Dred. Its quite a good kit, I got it to make (most) of a Libby Dred, all but the force weapon.

You should make your own forceweapon!

As soon as I break open my Ironclad dred, I will be making the right CCW arm into a FW.

Yeah the FW rhino bits have the break on the swords like deathwing, and Im not good enough with GS to fill it. Never made sence to me either.

On a side note, If anyone has some AoBR Dreds they want to sell super cheep, lemme know. I really dont even need the arms if they are nowhere to be had. I feel like a 40k elitest, but those are the only pieces from AoBR I still like, the others are just to static (good to try new paint schemes on tho).

I agree that the AoBR stuff looks pretty static but it is leaps and bounds better than the BFM (Battle for Mccragge) set. Those were the definition of static. No seriously, look in the dictionary they are under appendix 4

Yeah I sent the Maccragge marines I had to Gitsplitta for thing 1 to use and experiment on. I think I may disembowel some AoBR dudes and just use the legs

Ladies (Doubt it) and Gentlemen (still, kinda doubt it) tonight I present to you the end results of some trading done via the interwebs.

First I give you a Forge World Venerable Drednought from the Dark Angels Chapter. I purchased this off of ebay used, along with the company master with the big honkin sword, for a massive $25. Some simple green, and I give you this!


Whats that you say? Blood angel colors? Thats right folks, a master of a thousand battles, warrior of the time of Sanguinious himself, is a Blood Angel.
I rarely use Dreds in my DA army and use them alot in my BA army, so...... TADA!!!!!!! He is missing a claw and a toe (came with them, but got lost somewhere along the line). Also featured is a wrecked rhino front that was aquired in a trade from Rurouni Benshin, along with some other vehicles, which we will get back to. I practiced some basic weathering to make it look like its been there for awhile. Anywho, once the base is totally finished in the same colors as the previous dreds it should really pop.

Second in our fabulious show tonight is a piece of terrain I'm working on. A Preditor that has been long distroyed and forgotten, first imobalized by dangerious terrain, then exploded by the enemy of mankind, it has long sat in this location, waiting to see battle again.






This is another vehicle in the trade for Rurouni Benshin, along with two other vehicles, a Whirlwind and Vindicator, which I managed to salvage (they were in BAD shape). This one, well, couldnt be. This Preditor will be in the same colors as the hull on the base of the dred. Truely, they will be two pieces of one piece. The reason for the colors is that Rurouni plays Ultramarines, specifically of the 3rd company. From this point forward all the marines on this style of basing (and the terrain for my table, same colors) will be of the 3rd company, remeants of a long lost battleforce.
