Same question, just what? What video?

He might mean the one posted in the first post.

Regardless, as a PS3 owner I will now laugh at you Xbox owners. Ha ha ha Ok I'm sorry but I wanted to do that - I'm immature, sue me. Then again I have little to laugh about. 2pm ish I try and get the update. Lo and behold it's there and wants me to download it. Goody!... Oh wait PSn signed me out. Sign in... it wont sign in. Ok reboot and try again... nope still not in, reboot again... ok I'm in, lets download! Downloading... taking a while... signed out again >_>. This happened for about an hour - constant signing on/off or no signing in at all. Screwy PSN.

Fastforward to about 8:30pm and I try again. Sign in first time, download first go, no hiccups. And gameplay is great! Seriously, if reviewers said that the Multiplayer was bad, this brings it back. Take your fave layout from the multi and crush some Orks with it - genius. And it's damn handy too - I'm not sure a fresh player would survive long on base wargear you get at lvl1. Progression of difficulty is varied I suppose - level in places and steeped when a new enemy/enemies appear in the wave. Yeah, wave system. 5 waves you swap map. T-hammer is golden in this mode I got top killscore in 3 maps with it and using Killing Blow and Air-Cooled Thrusters. As usual, getting shot in midair is a nuisance so Inpentrable is almost a must I'd think. Died a few times, mostly to massed gunfire from Flash Gitz or those 'Ard Nobz. Wave 19 killed our team off (a random game it was) from a bugged cap point that I capped... weird but oh well. Meltagun and Storm Bolter work well in the mode, and a Plasma Cannon is alright. Stalker Bolter is not suggested General thumbs-up from me

You mean PC which gets most of the content for free?

Have you looked at Steam lately? If you're not playing an RTS or an MMO, you hardly get anything free anymore. XBox Live killed that joy ride

I'm talking about how XBox Live made all relevant parties in the game industry realize they could charge for additional content and people would buy it and they pretty much stopped giving free content.

EDIT: Expansions filled this role before, but DLC is a more cost efficient method of getting more money (also why you see fewer expansion packs these days compared to the 90's).

The PS3 version in nice and laggy...I've been booted from several games. After my group finished a wave, another one didn't start - we just sat there running around the scenery, waiting for something to happen

But, when it's sunning smoothly it's great! The Shoota Nobs are a flippin pain...It's totally different from playing against other Marines, so you might want to adjust your classes. I find that the Storm Bolter and Melta Gun combo to be pretty good

The Heavy Bolter awesome in this mode. I would recommend the heat-sink for sure - I always found my self overheating with it haha

Also, ammo can be hard to come by sometimes. Share and conserve! It's no fun when you're a Tac marine that's run out of Plasma, Melta, and Bolt Pistol ammo :/

Yeah, ammo is scarce and the heavy bolter really chews through it. I got through one map using it, and had to resort to my bolt pistol a few times. The PlasCannon is great too.

No friends to play with, eh?

While thats a true statement, its not the case. I haven't actually played the game in about a month now, been too busy with the new Ace Combat and the BF3 beta, amongst other things.

I hadn't either, honestly. I was holding off for Exterminatus and getting my Cryx painted.

Well, I tried playing it now that all my homework is done, but apparently we can join in progress games, and the matchmaker won't match me with any games that aren't in progress -_-

For once, the heat sink will be useful. I played a bit earlier to check it out, and never have I over heated my Hbolter so much in 1 session. Infact during multiplayer, I think it might have overheated twice

Im digging it, pretty cool update, makes me wonder what they will do in later DLC I might actually be interested in buying some

Apparently Exterminatus is not coming today.

Also, I have decided Space Marines move far too slow regularly, especially when aiming a weapon. Their footsteps are gargantuan, there is no reason they shouldn't be moving faster; can't strafe dodge at all.

That was actually alot of fun, now just gotta wait for people I know on steam to logon so we can play, made it lvl 19 very first time and I wasn't really paying attention as I was late for the gym, I will say games take a while, so make sure plan for that.

Segatasan wrote:Good day Xboxers and the greater WH40K: SM community,

I just got off the phone with my contact at MS who is stationed in the Live department.
He had some interesting news.
'Robert' said that the DLC is not yet showing on their systems but would text me back when he had more details, but he said we could expect one of two things:

1) That the DLC Exterminatus was received too late to be processed for the 25th, which means that we may have to wait up to a week for it if that is the case. 'Rob' said that often these things do happen and if it becomes a flagged issue by 'the powers at be' it may be pushed for update by tomorrow. He did also mention it may be an 'end of business day' update which means that the Cali and East Coast servers may not be updated till their scheduled maintenance at 8-10PM PST/EST.

2) He noted that the DLC is 'Pending', which means that there may be a technical or economical issue with the content. He reminded me of some content that long ago went free on XBLA but later was retracted and was given a dollar value for purchasing. It is possible that the content, due to distribution and licensing rights may end up costing us something. 'Rob' said this was highly improbable as it has been toted as 'free' by more than MS so the PR nightmare it would create would be diabolical. It may be, hypothetically, on the table between MS and THQ regarding who flips the bill for distribution. This often also happens (in smaller developers and publishers) when they present MS with a product out of the blue and expect immediate release without prior knowledge.

Just some points guys. I'll keep you informed as I get the texts.

Just throwing that out there.

I can't say I'm surprised. If you ask Soladrin, I called it that THQ would lay the blame at Microsoft's feet and that we'd likely see it come out that the DLC was not given to Microsoft in time.

Microsoft, as mentioned, does do some pretty rigorous testing of DLC. Sony just slaps it up there most of the time.
