Gaps in the treads are meant to be there. (that's my story and I'm sticking to it!)

Normally I am a fanatic about drilling barrel holes, but these guns are odd... kind of oblong and rounded in front and I think that getting a precise hole would be very difficult and might look strange even if drilled correctly.

I'll double-check the clean up on the right las cannon.

I havent set up any blogs yet as I am still really new dakka.

I'm currently trying to put together a decent Dark Angel Kill Team list. There's a Kill team event at my LFGS and I'm really excited to play, but I think I'm going to have my arse handed to me because I've never played in Kill team before! lol Any thoughts or ideas?

But after that, I think I'll have to dust of my Lamenters and take a break from my Angels of Vengeance. I've never tried anything like the blog you got going on here but i can definately give it a go!

@Master Azalle: Not sure my kill team advice would do you any good. I went for very diverse, which was helped by the fact that I had a dirt cheap ork list. Even with kill team, heavy weapons are important, but mixing it up is also a good idea. How you use your USRs is also very important. I only ended up using one of my three, but that one was very important and I think the other two were good decisions... they just ended up not being needed.

@Arakasi: Just to be clear... I hate you with the heat of a thousands suns. I HAD to go back and clean up the las cannons *and* the tracks. What a PITA that was!


So, I got the airbrushing done on the body of the tank. Picture doesn't capture the colors quite right, but you get the idea. I'll do some lining next (yawn!) and then move on to the details, which should really bring it together nicely.

You could always paint the ends of the Las cannons like lenses instead of drilling them...

Ah but you see... these are *brand new* lasers. There's no need for a barrel of an real sort as there's no ballistic projectile to guide along it's course. The barrel on any las gun is simply to prevent the operator from accidentally lasing his own body or (in this case) the hull of his own tank. Upon first firing, the las cannon burns away a perfectly round "barrel" through the body of the gun... but the existence of that hole is totally superfluous as concerns the functioning of the weapon.

These guns simply haven't been fired yet!!

Gitz, I think I'll come back to my Lamenters for the Kill Team after all.

I like the mobility of the Assault Squad I'll run an 8 man team
Sgt with Power Sword, Combat sheild, Bolt Pistol and melta bombs
1 marine with flamer
1 marine with plasmagun

Most importantly your green to yellow is freaking outstanding!

In regards to Kill Team, you must remember these things:
When you hit half models or less, you start taking Leadership tests each turn. If you fail, you lose.
So as a general rule, more models = better.

People will bring Armour. Dreadnoughts / Walkers / Tanks.
Be prepared to have to deal with AV 12/13/14.

You have to buy in whole squads, but once on the table, each one model is a seperate unit - people forget this and tend to move them as entire units, and/or stay in coherency.

Every shot may be made against a different target - so a Heavy Bolter could shoot at 3 different models.

Squad Upgrades that are conferred by 1 model with gear / a rule, only apply to that 1 model with the gear / rule. They are effectively useless in Kill Team.

Also - the Mantis Prince is on the front page of the Gallery and has been for a while.

So you're saying you'll add the barrels AFTER the first game

Wow dude, I don't think that old land raider has ever looked so good! Nice job refurbishing it.

Maybe mud up the tracks a bit to hide the seams, some decals? I rather like the colors.

It is interesting to see the contrast between old and new land raiders...that tank would be a total clown car with a pile of terminators crammed in there like sardines

Well, it's FAR from done C_D, just doing some of the basic colors. I hope to dress it up quite a bit before I call it complete.

Sad. I was going to tell you to take some plastic tubing of an appropriate size, cut it on a 45' angle, and stick it on the lascannons to make barrels.
