A character reference of advertisement is not going to get much in the way of court. I don't doubt for a second that BTP is going to be whoring out those reviews as fast as possible though.
TheCustomLime wrote: This interaction between BTP and Tenebre feels like the one between Vader and Lando in Empire.
Ah, well done there . I just re-watched this so it's fresh in my mind...
Lando: Lord Vader, what about Leia and the Wookiee?
Darth Vader: They must never again leave this city.
Lando: That was never a condition of our agreement, nor was giving Han to this bounty hunter!
Darth Vader: Perhaps you think you're being treated unfairly?
Lando: No.
Darth Vader: Good. You know it would be unfortunate if I had to leave a garrison here.
Lando: This deal is getting worse all the time!
(some time later)
Darth Vader: Calrissian. Take the princess and the Wookie to my ship.
Lando: You said they'd be left at the city under my supervision!
Darth Vader: I am altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further.
You just basically need to edit this clip with Tenebre as Lando, and Shawn as Vader.

Actually, it's more like a Restaurant giving you food poisoning but insisting that the food was perfect all along and that you should come back again for more food with a slight discount for your troubles.

I actually had that happen once! hahah Way before Yelp.... and no i never went there again.
I do enjoy the levity from you all, it makes it much easier to bear.

If he is actually from the netherlands and not some north american BTP fanboy maybe he has been hitting the ganj a bit too hard
After the OP said he wouldnt send his models back to evil BTP and asked for a 60% refund instead of the amount that was offered.
You cant say BTP didnt put any effort into fixing this. And you cant say that both parties are working towards a fair solution either. If the OP thinks his way to justice is through the law then he should go ahead with that, but if that fails then I wont be surprised if BTP retracts all of the solutions instead of leaving him one.
They did offer other alternatives, which they prompty withdrew as soon as the OP accepted them. There is no trust here. And the fault lies with BTP. Stop spreading your lies here anonomous BTP employee.

I was looking on this thread closely and I can't take this anymore.
Cause I'm feeling bad to see how much did you spend on this army and how many nerves it costs to you i have an option for u.
You can choose any character or unit from your army. I'll paint them for free on high tt+ standard with unit and showcase standard on character.
We're one big family as painters/gamers. If we'll start doing mess around us there's no option to have normal relationship between us (painters) and you (gamers).
That's why it will be fully voluntary. Don't loose your faith on painting services. There's a lot of normal people around the world doing their stuff great.
On my site you can look on painted minis. Pm me or mail me for details. Only cost you'll have to pay is pp.
Stay strong mate! Don't give up.

What justice has been served?
OP still has an army he's not happy with, and is now going to need to retain an attorney to try and get some sort of settlement - and while I understand the effort, I am quite dubious of the outcome. It's going to be pretty hard for a layperson to get the distinctions that we take for granted. Have you guys served on a jury before?
BTP has a black eye, but the internets will move on and forget. Maybe his shaky business practices will bring him down, but maybe not. I doubt this will have any really lasting effect.
All of the yelling in this thread and self-congratulatory masturbation has accomplished what every single thread complaining about GW accomplished, essentially: nothing whatsoever.
I wish OP the best of luck. I would probably eat my losses and take the offer in this thread for a repaint from YWPA (nice offer, btw!)

the official response fro BTP is return the army or nothing. they have ceased contact since retracting the last offer i accepted.
I can not comment any further on the lawyer issue other than I have a lawyer.

Lawyer reviewed experts analysis and that is enough. But the long term of this as you stated cold just be forgotten. In my entire life I have never been treated this poorly by any business. All i can do is keep my video up in hopes of informing others.
There are so many good studios, that i have learned about now, there is no reason for anyone to go through this type of trouble.

I agree with what you wrote, but do think there is a significant difference between GW and BTP. BTP likely does not have the customer base and liquid capital GW has access to. If OP can tie up BTP assets by forcing them to commit them to a legal battle, while causing them a short term downturn in commissions due to 'bad internet press', that can be a HUGE blow to a small company and BTP may not be able to overcome it. Unless BTP has a lawyer willing to do pro-bono work, even forcing them to lawyer up is doing them damage a small company may have trouble handling.
It could end up a lose/lose. OP may not get restitution but BTP may burn through assets they cannot afford to burn through.
We'll see. I hope it does go well for the OP, but it won't be easy and that outcome is not assured.

Not to mention if OP didn't bring this up and it didn't get this much attention, it might not have caught YWPA's attention as well. Justice may not be served right now, but at least OP's getting a well painted army that he wants.

No, YWPA very graciously volunteered to paint a character or unit, but not the whole army.

I think it would be pure radness if the Dakka P&M squad could follow suit and give this guy the army he obviously paid for. I'd paint some too.

Another studio has offered to get the army up to the standard I requested for gratis. Not an entire repaint but that would be ridiculous for anyone to undertake without pay. I will be posting a video on this entire process step by step with before and after shots. Should start next week or the week after with weekly updates.
I would love to review any painting studios work since I really do not like doing negative videos about the hobby I love. So I truly hope that all future videos will have a happy feeling to them.
I truly feel that anyone YWPA, winterdyne etc that would offer such a thing truly and deeply believes in their work.
I've also watched your video and the situation is very dire and is a reminder of how some take advantage of this community.
I have been following this thread on and off but I didn't see any information on what you used for storage of your army.
Tenebre, if you need any assistance for storing your Chaos Dwarf army. I'd be more than happy to send you enough cases and foam so you can transport your army to a reputable painting service if you decide, or just need some storage solutions anyway. All for free of course.
Send me a PM if you're interested.

Hopefully next time someone complains that Dakka is a seething hotbed of negativity, whining and moaning, they can be pointed at this thread and others like itand be reminded that actually most people in the community are good spirited and big hearted willing to give a leg up to those who find themselves in misfortune.

That's superb! Do name the studio doing the work - the commission business is ALL about word of mouth and exposure; I'm sure they'd appreciate it.
