Well Gave and Tycho are special edition figures, in a sense, so them along with the Cos-Play Ltd. Ed’s and the ones likely to not be sold (except at conventions until they run out).

The SDE stuff will probably stay.

The last four thing (Bosses and Heralds) will stay.

Pot, meet kettle.

What the heck, may as well post this here as well as in the Infinity thread (but spoilered so no-one gets a heart attack / goes into a fit of apoplectic rage when they scroll down and think Relic Knights is getting another stretch goal ). Concept art for the Combined Army Raicho:

Me too, and hopefully for the same price as during the Kickstarter proper. I now have NO IDEA what I want (other than not the Diamondback anymore), especially as Soda Pop haven't clarified whether you can buy just the Void Herald for $15 (or equivalent) instead of being force to take both it and the porno-maid for $30 (or equivalent).

I would say so; from their final update,

It looks like the two Uniques are unlocked as Special Edition choices (set of 2 for 3 slots, or $30, or get only one for $20). With just 3 hours left to go, it's time to start packing up our stuff, but we'll leave you with something sweet!

Ah, sorry. I thought that was just DaveC speculating, rather than CoolMiniOrNot/Soda Pop being unsure as to whether or not they're going to penalise players for choosing all their factions from the same alignment, much less posting about it. I forgot about the rulebook business.

Gonna hit 888,888 with about an hour to go it looks like.

They should add a 950k stretch goal, a signifigant freebie. That would actually be an interesting race to see if we could hit it.

Aaand... it's a shirt.

Thank you everyone! The Candy Plushie is now unlocked and available together with Cola ($30 + $15)!!

As a last hurrah in this last 35 minutes, if we hit $923,681, we'll print Kickstarter Exclusive T-shirts available at $15 each, from S to XXXL!

This will proudly proclaim you as one of the elite few on this awesome Relic Knights Kickstarter!

Most backed games:

So Sedition Wars at 6, Ogre at 7, Relic Knights at 8, and Zombiecide at 9... and, of course, Reaper Bones at 2

Oh, that's easy.
The last one works fine as there were only Limited Edition Slots taken. you can even just put in the total number of limited edition slots on 1 model and it will tell you the total amount.

I kept my pledge at $345... but it will be upped in the pledge manager (I just didn't want to get charged more now)

RN was a nice kickstarter, but it had its disappointing moments, leaving Noh and Black diamond without their solos was a really big one, the demand was too big.

Not sour grapes! I listed out the most backed miniatures projects, and it goes Sedition Wars, Ogre, Relic Knights, Zombiecide (and of course Reaper way past them all!)

That pretty much lists them in order of how well I thought they were run and how awesome they are, with the exception that I thought Zombiecide should've been above Relic Knights. I like to see good work get rewarded

Given that you backed both Ogre and Relic Knights, I wouldn't think you'd mind either way, Alf . Really didn't mean anything by it other than that.

My mistake then!

I want any Kickstarter that I back to break every record possible, from both a strictly selfish position as it probably means that my dollar will go further, and so that the company in question can do well and continue to support whatever it is I just backed!

It was updated last night but the link doesn't seem to be working right now. At least not for me. I'll see if I can track down what is up. At the very least once the pledge manager launches you'll have 60 days to use it to manage your pledge specifics.

Also, I'd like to extend a huge thank you to everyone here who supported us. We can't wait to get everything made and out to you. Over the coming months we will be sending you updates through Kickstarter, our website, and posting here on the forum (when DaveC doesn't beat us!).

We're also planning at least one more launch of revised beta rules so you'll have even more opportunity to test out the game and prepare for the wide release.

Thanks again!

Both. But not to the degree I got into Bones or Relic Knights. And with the PM's coming on line in the next couple of weeks dare I say all four?!?! Personally I 'd like to see a giant listing of my options...I know it's coming soon. It helps me fight off the urge to have every single mini in the line all at once. I want (most of) the cosplays. Penny Arcade stuff I never really followed - but they seem like cool models when one puts it into a now or never type of category. The SDE stuff I'd like to pick up, but will probably add it in sometime in the next two months. Options, options, options!!

I was going to go all in and get all 6, but the sculpts for Doctrine and Shattered Sword just didn't do it for me.

Specifically, the translation from concept art to model for Doctrine's Relic Knight, and just like you noted, the Sword Sworn for Shattered Sword.

So, if I had to list them in order of preference:

1) Black Diamond
2) Noh
3) Cerci Speed Circuit
4) Star Corsairs

And the Star Corsairs really only made it in towards the end, when some of the stretch specials and add ons were shown...

Cerci Speed Ciruit has the most in one lineup that I like....although I don't like their Betty/Lug/Pit Crew addon. The Royal Wreckers rock the casbah.
Nebula Space Pirates I like Calico Kate, but I'm middle of the road on her minions and the breech canon,
I really like the minions and the boost pack for the Doctrine, but I don't like Kisa/Scratch

Those were the 3 factions I was thinking about buying into....the SSP I don't really like, except for that very last buy in. Noh and BD I like, but not enough to buy into ATM (though One Shot is really cool). Who's know....I sure don't I might pick up BD over the Doctrine starter. I'm sure after all the money is spent I'll have at least one army I can play against an opponent. I do see my buying a lot of the Cosplay's and special ed stuff.

Cerci Speed Circuit, Black Diamond Mercenaries and Shattered Sword Paladins. Traded in the other three. I got a few things that aren't for those groups (Darkspace Isabeau, Wildspace Gabe, Doctrine Brahe), but otherwise just stuck to those three. I'm glad that the Heralds and Sugar Rush/Void Reaper give us alternate leaders, even if two of them (Herald and Reaper) mostly lead forces that I don't have.

Weirdly my friend who went into this wants the exact same three groups.

To be fair, barring Cerci with their additional cosplay Marie-Claude Questing Knight, all factions got the same number of Relic Knights, Questing Knights, Elites, Uniques and Minions. Sophie Drake and Mamaro-To were the first two of the next batch of Uniques and although I'm still a little annoyed they weren't included I can understand why they weren't and why Soda Pop didn't say they wouldn't be until the very end.

Find someone who did and force them to watch re-runs of Jersey Shore until they agree to add your stuff on to theirs once the pledge manager comes out.

Well, the pledge manager won't be up for another two months and won't need to be completed for another two months after that. Plenty of time for Soda Pop to relent and fix them, show missing greens and renders, and so on.

That's quite a long time before they take your money.

I was very tempted by the Noh faction. Loved the Oni guys, particularly the one on the giant temple dog. But a bit concerned that the concept art might not be translated too well into the figures themselves.

Also, doubt anybody in my area would play this.

Not really on the cheaper as I said earlier in the thread. I have a retailers account and for the amount of stuff they were giving out that is a better deal then I could purchase it for. Expect to pay far more then $50 to come near what they were tossing in when all of this launches.

It's interesting that the Cerci Speed Circuit is mentioned as one of the more favored factions so far - the only, as yet, all girl faction.

Personally, I'd be more inclined to grab them if some of the models were on foot. As it stands all of the units in the Faction Starter, save Rin Farrah, are on bikes and that makes for a boring dynamic. I'm gonna have to disagree with MightyGodzilla here and say it would be good to include Betty, Lug, Pit Crew, and Wreckers. It would certainly enhance that feel of them being racers at a track and introduce nice, grounded models. The footage and greens for Betty and Lug look good at any rate, have to wait on the Pit Crew.

If I recall correctly, it's mentioned somewhere that Relic Knight Kisa (and a few other models) would be looked at. Might be wrong. Considering that she's the centerpiece for Doctrine, that might help public opinion.

Dentry wrote:It's interesting that the Cerci Speed Circuit is mentioned as one of the more favored factions so far - the only, as yet, all girl faction.

That's not the reason I got them. I got them because I like Mayla/Tomn and because they're very different to the rest; the rest are all obviously 'armed forces', whereas these guys seem to be completely different - they're a group of racers.

Mayla and the Pace Robots aren't on bikes. And we don't know what the dynamic is yet as we've not played the game, so it's a bit early to judge.

Some factions have more Uniques and some factions have more Minions. That just depends on how we want each faction to feel. A military organization like black diamond will generally have more minions to maintain their "anonymous soldier" feel.

Sophia and Mamaro were included in the preview rules as sneak peaks of units that will be coming out with the full book. Every faction has a number of units that did no go into the Kickstarter. We wanted to keep a few things as a surprise for when you get the book.

I meant aesthetically. Mechanically, I don't really know how anything plays as I haven't familiarized myself with the rules. And yes, adding Betty & Co. would definitely alleviate the issue.

Despite my constant complains, deliver a nice sculpt of her, soon after the release of Relic Knights and you are forgiven.

I will agree with the above posters though, some sculpts previously released will need fixing SS brethren are definitely one of them, showed the pics to a friend who loved the illustration and was turned off, going plastic is a perfect time to ass detail and fix things on sculpts.

That is the plan on Sophia!

Regarding the swordsworn. At the moment we consider them complete, but we will certainly be taking a look at every model as we prepare them for plastic production. Not to provide false hope, but we aren't oblivious to some people's dislike of the swordsworn.

Well they showed off the 'fixed' version of Rin, with an alternate far-more-anime-style head. That's a good start.

Awesome. CSC was my faction of choice...the fluff surrounding a race team trying to save the galaxy is way too anime and the reason I like them so much. I think I'm going to try and do a raceway diorama complete with blurry background. You should try to and do a couple of metro-guy bike racers for the release.

Edit: "too" with two o's. Spelling and grammar will save the world. Mark my words.

Actually thinking about getting all 6 now as well. If the rules are good and we can play it, having all of them would be a great option.

BUT that's a little pricey (as I want the optional extra's and the SDE and ALL ALL ALL of them ;-)

I was contemplating to take part (Cerci and Noh), but I really don't need 4 identical Berserkers or 2x3 identical jetbike. So I can wait until the regular release and still save money. Plus: Sodapop miniatures often look different than the concept, esp. the face.

The bikers will have different options (such as helmet and heads) and separate arms (my assumption). So that should be less of an issue.

they have said they are trying to allow more variability in the 'troop' poses.

Ah, yes, you're quite right. I wasn't thinking of the extras. N'oh only get Marikan-To and Black Diamond only get Suspect 7 (Zindea and Magnus are Questing Knights, not Uniques). Still, aside from Marie-Claude, Gabe and Tycho, all the factions got roughly equal love from Soda Pop, just different love in each case.

Even if you merely reposed them it would make a lot of people happy. Since they're wearing full armour, that should require minimal resculpting.

They need to give us time to forget how much we spent the first time around. 'Tis a cunning plan.

I was very tempted by the Noh faction. Loved the Oni guys, particularly the one on the giant temple dog. But a bit concerned that the concept art might not be translated too well into the figures themselves.
Overall, N'oh probably has the highest-quality, most-faithful sculpts of all the factions. You can see greens for all the male N'oh - an' da cute widdle doggie-puppies! - at http://monster-zer0.blogspot.co.nz/.

I assume he means Isabeau rather than Rin? (The official paintjob on Rin does make her head look funny, but there's nothing wrong with the actual sculpt. )

There's actually two different Berserkers, plus whatever optional parts (if any) Soda Pop add to the plastic versions:

That's an excellent change though, I must have missed that. A few more minis get "fixed" like that and the entire range will become much more tempting. If you're treading on "super-cute anime girls" as your stock and trade you need to make sure that cuteness translates from the art to the mini.

Relic Knights Kickstarter wrote:Day 14+ - We send out surveys through Kickstarter

We'll send a survey out asking for all your info. At this time, you don't need to be super accurate. The purpose of this survey is so that we have a rough idea how much stuff we need to make, and for you to give us some information about yourself and your pledge so we can seed our database. You can specify more rewards here if you wish, but nothing is charged at this stage.

Surveys can only be saved once (Kickstarter limitation) and cannot be modified after 10 minutes.

Please try to complete your survey within 2 weeks of receiving the notification, we will be ignoring anything else input into the survey after that.

New Update!

Soda Pop Miniatures wrote:Surveys - a little different this time

We'll be sending out surveys shortly, but this time they'll be a little different. For our previous projects, we asked you for EVERYTHING in the survey, including your address. Due to the long time period between the initial survey and shipment, a significant number of our backers either

Moved and forgot to tell us, or
Never used our Kickstarter Pledge Manager (CKPM), but asked for more stuff on the survey than their pledge level provided for (so we couldn't ship) or
Never used the CKPM and didn't pay for shipping in the initial pledge (so we couldn't ship)
In addition, some backers were irritated at having to enter their information once and then having to confirm it at a later date.

So, lessons learnt - we'll only be asking for super long lead time items on this survey that we need to know as soon as possible and leave the rest to the CKPM.

What we'll be asking for in the survey:

A monitored email address - if the address you use in Kickstarter isn't one you regularly check. This email address, if different, will only be used for stuff related to your pledge. For our sanity, please be aware that Hotmail randomly eats CKPM emails, letting some through and binning others. if this is your only email address, a good work around is to setup a Gmail address and forward it to Hotmail, and whitelist your Gmail address.
If you are a $10 to $50 pledger, whether you want to upgrade to Savior.
If you are $90 or above pledger, how many Saviors, Double Saviors and GTGEA you want.
How many Cola Plushies you'd like (so we can estimate production qty)
How many Candy Plushies you'd like (so we can estimate production qty)
We won't be asking for your
Address or
Ask you to calculate your pledge
That will all be taken care of by the CKPM when it is released in November (estimated, may be later). At that time you will have the opportunity to configure the pledge as you like based on how much you pledged (and any early bird discounts), as well as top up whatever you're missing.

Hopefully, this will cut down some of the confusion, since you'll only ever give us your address once, at the time you need to confirm your pledge content.

Also, Kickstarter surveys, once saved, cannot be edited after 10 minutes. Since we're not asking for a lot of info this time, please make sure your email address is correct, at the very minimum.

It's not too hard to figure out.

What went out today is a Survey. The survey asks you a few questions.

What's your email? (This is probably the most important thing on the survey.)
How many Savior, Double Savior, or GGEA are you getting?

None of your answers in this Survey are binding. It's strictly for Soda Pop Miniatures and CoolMiniOrNot to get an estimate of what they're gonna have to manufacture to ship in May.

The CoolMiniOrNot Kickstarter Pledge Manager (CKPM) which will be out sometime in November (maybe) is where you actually 'place your order' so to speak. When you use the Pledge Manager you tell them exactly what you want and pay any extra costs not covered by your kickstarter pledge.

Also, Orlando, it might help if you use the pledge calculator (unofficial) or post what you're trying to get so others can double check it for you if you want.

I highly doubt that they will work out the best way to organise the pledge to get the best value, you'll have to do that yourself.

There are just too many variables already to add that on top of it (not hard... but if they stuff that up I don't even want to think of what will happen). I have up'ed my GGTTA to a GGTA + Savior as it works out very good (end up with 5 teams, heaps of extra's and a book).

Calico Kate - plastic!
Update #57 · Oct. 25, 2012 · 3 comments

We're hard at work here at Relic Knights HQ and new sculpts and art have started making their way to us. They're looking so awesome that we naturally had to share with our loyal backers. First up we have one that we know many of you were curious about when we said we'd be reworking her for plastic, Calico Kate!

As you can see, she boasts a number of refinements from her first sculpt. Including newly bulked up legs and arms to better withstand the constant use of gameplay. Plus a great new battle pose! This is just the first of the updates that we'll be releasing over the next several months as we march towards release date next year. Stay tuned for more!

so get your wallets ready (and a few maths geniuses to help you calculate the best way to get what you want)

Just had a quick mess around with it it's straight forward enough to use there's just lot of options to get through and everything seems to total up at the end. Keep an eye on the credit total to ensure you use all your credit up.

I just went in for a quick look too, and nothing seemed to be working yet - I wasn't able to add anything in, or trade anything in for credit either.

Still, it isn't live yet, so there's time, clearly!

EDIT

OK, it looks like it IS working - just took me a bit to figure out.

This might be confusing for some - hope the screenshot tutorial turns out great!

Yeah I was confused a first myself but to make it work you have to pick your pledge levels on the choice pledges screen first then hit add and it should work from there if you don't add a pledge level first you won't be able to do anything else

Relic Knights Kickstarter from Soda Pop - The Ongoing Update Thread! @ 2012/11/03 23:25:08

Post by: Alpharius

DaveC - that's what was causing me problems at the start!

Have to make sure everyone picks their pledge and hits "Add" or else nothing "works".

Other than that, it is actually pretty straight forward - a well down pledge manager that simplifies what was promising to be a complex 'check out'!

I'd forgotten about some of the cool "bosses" like "Cordelia Clean" and the "Void Herald"!

I've had a play and am pleasantly surprised......

I upped my pledge at the end and managed to forget I'd done so

so I SHOULD be able to afford the 4 factions + bits I wanted where I thought I was doomed to only getting 3 and no bits

Three cheers for my faulty memory

I have only a very small pledge in this, but given the way that CMON has handled Sedition Wars since getting our money (or this KS as well, for that matter), I'm not sure I'm willing to give them any more.

I think we'll be fine in that regard, so that really shouldn't factor in too greatly...

The 'news blackout' turned out to be a bit of the McVey's moving, not taking to criticism too kindly and a Chinese swindler.

Will the same happen here? Probably not!

Yup, you must have missed update 52 during the KS (unlocked at 830K)

get the pair for 3 'picks' or $30

get either one separately for 2 'picks' or 20

Yeah, thought it might have been something like that. Just what I need, more choices about what I'll be spending the pledge on.

I don't need my hand held and to be reassured/updated every week so I'm not too concerned. I knew I would be waiting a long time to get the minis and we still have a while to wait

And it isn't due to ship until May 2013.

Sure!

Nope, no sign of them

(well one person seemed to say they'd had one, but that could well have been a language issue, and thye'd just got in via an old zombicide/Sedition Wars link)

The pledge manager still does not seem to allow you to add the Manga hard copy, so it may not be working right yet, hence the delay in the official release

Relic Knights Update 58!

The Relic Knights Kickstarter Pledge Manager is ready and links will go out shortly for all you out RK fans there!

We've prepared a very short video to explain how to use the Pledge Manager due to the additional ability for really customizing your pledge by trading in Factions and Rulebooks you don't need.

Rookie question about Kickstarter--I've had to unexpectedly abandon the email address I gave in the original survey (long story, plus Lycos being idiots), so how do I get in touch to update CMON with the new address?

Relic Knights Kickstarter from Soda Pop - The Ongoing Update Thread! @ 2012/11/11 20:31:05

Your best bet is to use the contact function on the relic knights KS page

(You may need to prove that you are you, have you for example changed your email address on KS itself?)

since the pledge manager is meant to be going live monday/tuesday they may be busy, but at least they should looking at it

Well the CKPM E-mail finally arrived. As it turns out, the excel calculator posted many pages back was 100% correct. When totalled up all I owed was $75 in shipping. Yeah, that's a lot of shipping, but for that I got:

Hardback Rulebook
RK: Lithograph
SDE Calico Kate
SDE Sebastien
SDE Malya
SDE Kisa
SDE Kasaro To
SDE One Shot
Darskapce Marie Claude
Darkspace Candy & Cola
Darkspace Fiametta
Darkspace Isabeau
Cordelia Clean + Void Herald
Candy Rush
Void Reaper
Diamondback armor + bonus Breaker team
Austrician + bonus Navarre Hauser
Black Dragons x2
Purifiers
Betty/Lug + bonus Pit crew
Royal Wreckers
Kenobo/Squall + bonus Moffett
Blowhards
Codifier Brahe
Wildspace Gabe
Black Diamond Faction Starter
Black Diamond Bonus
Cerci Speed Circuit Faction Starter
Cerci Speed Circuit Bonus
Boost Token set
Star Nebula Corsairs Faction Starter
Star Nebula Corsairs Bonus
Shattered Sword Faction Starter
Shattered Sword Bonus

Not a bad haul. And Malaketh is getting all 6 Factions, so we can play quite a few combinations of this and have enough models for everyone in our group!

I've just finalised mine,

Couldn't quite manage to grab everything (mini wise) even with creative trade ins

so I left out the Shattered Sword Faction (fortunately I don't like ANY of their models)

& the Black Diamond Assault Armour (as I decided I wanted a rulebook just in case I ended up playing)

(so my P&P was $100, wince)

now for the long, long wait

Update 55 said 60 days from issue of the email I wouldn't worry about it with both Zombicide and Sedition Wars they never actually locked the CKPM on the stated date if you hadn't finalised you could still sort it after the official date.

Not planning to finalise mine until early January any way.

Day 60+ - We send out, via email, links to the CoolMiniOrNot Kickstarter Pledge Manager (CKPM)

This email will come from us (kickstarter@coolminiornot.com). You will have a further 60 days from the receipt of this email to finalize everything you'd like, including adding additional pledge rewards and levels. Once you hit save and checkout with Paypal, your reward choices are locked.

Rejoice, finally some form of update today on Kickstarter!:
We have a couple of exciting updates for you today. The first is a Relic Knight Beta Rules update that introduces squad rules. This is the first of several rule updates that we will be releasing over the coming weeks. We encourage all of you to download them and take them for a spin, then post any game results and feedback you have on our forums. Just like our earlier Beta release we will be reading all the feedback you provide to help us improve gameplay for launch.
Download the Beta Squad Rules

We also have the sculpts for our two Penny Arcade characters: Codifier Brahe, and Wildspace Gabe!

Hello,
Just got this:
Project Update #62: The Twelve Days of Relic Knights: Day One
Posted by CoolMiniOrNot
We know many of you are still agonizing over your decision of which factions to choose to complete your pledges by the end of the year. So in the spirit of the holiday season we thought we'd help you out with, The Twelve Days of Relic Knights. Every day through Christmas we'll reveal a new model.

Lets get this song started! (We recommend singing this song as fast and loud as possible, preferably in public, to really get into the Holiday cheer.)

On the first day of Relic Knights, Santa Soda gave to me -- A Black Diamond, M-8 Autonomous Tank, complete with BFG, murderous "protective" targeting software, and blinged out chrome treeeeeeads.

I'm still hoping that the pictures of Gabe and Tycho they showed us earlier weren't finals, and that they can be 'fixed' and that the rest of the new models won't have similarly odd looking faces.

Update time!

The Twelve Days of Relic Knights: Day Two
Update #63 · Dec. 15, 2012

Here comes our second verse! Now remember, volume and a rapid tempo are critical when singing this song.

On the second day of Relic Knights, Santa Soda gave to me -- A Doctrine Novitiate, newly enrolled into the Erudite Prefectorium for Scholarly Excellence, who is nonetheless banded into a squad and thrust into battle against horrific forces that nobody truly comprehends, yes it's a magic wielding school giiiiiirl.

From the update:

3. If you want to unlock your pledge to add or change stuff, please get in touch with your pledge number if you know it.

the they noted the problem and said they were working on it on the forum (which went off line today at some point today)

It's been down a fair bit recently so they've either got problems with their host, or maybe they've got hacker issues

They posted on facebook when they came back up last time

Hi everyone. Our site has indeed been down since Thursday night (USA). Apparently we have some sort of memory problem that is causing problems with our host. (I am just techie enough to cause problems so I don't know full details. ) Our web guys are currently working on it. Seeing how this is the second time we've had a problem in as many weeks they're trying to root out and correct the source of the problem, so it doesn't occur again.

Terribly sorry about the inconvenience. We will have it back as soon as we can.

It just snowed here last night so I guess that means that it really is approaching Christmas time. Interestingly, in their constant effort to increase the thrill of the race, vast swathes of Cerci Prime Raceway run through jagged mountain peaks perpetually locked in ice. Making the miles of track criss-crossing their frozen expanse some of the deadliest in the entire circuit. In that spirit lets take up another rousing verse!

On the third day of Relic Knights, Santa Soda gave to me -- Cerci Speed Circuit racing legend Marie-Claude, fresh off yet another death-defying circuit win, where it wasn't just her racer that killed, but her looks as weeeeell.

Today's update!

We're working feverishly on some new scenario rules at the moment that we're planning to get out to you before the holiday. Lets cut straight to the verse, so we can get back to delicious rules writing.

On the fifth day of Relic Knights, Santa Soda gave to me -- a Noh Empire Render, eschewing traditional weaponry for fiendish technological ones that renders your poor sniveling human shell into goo in mere moments, so much for bringing this guy along to catch slaaaaaaaaves.

3D Renders don't get me terribly excited, especially after the Gabe-n-Tycho Face issue, but still, nice to see an update.

I just hope that a lot of the issues people were having with the rule set are getting worked out before the game releases...

I... wow, really? Really?

That's just so odd looking... I thought doctrine was supposed to be a mix of like Harry Potter-esque stuffy boarding school look and medieval wizard look. This is just clownish. I mean, even in the "song" they refer to his "school uniform". Is it clown school?

I quite like him, but feel he's the weakest reveal so far

Hey all,

I am curious to the internets thoughts on this, I bought into this kickstarter, Savior level, but now I have no interest in this game, really dont like having all the Big Boobed models, perhaps its because i just had a little girl, just dont want those in the house. No judgement, just a personal call.

So if I was to pick factions to put this up on ebay after I get the box, what factions are the most popular?

Thanks for reading

Dunno if you've locked your pledge or not in the pledge manager - but if you haven't - I'd just trade in all the savior stuff and buy the limited edition cosplay stuff. I'm sure that will sell for a tidy sum on ebay. Otherwise - I would think the top two factions sales-wise would be a) black diamond (for people using them as guard proxies) and b) Cersei speed circuit (for breasts enthusiasts).

You could always just choose the modestly dressed Shattered Star faction too, if you wanted to keep the minis you sprung for three months ago.

New update, a Black Dragon sculpt!

The Twelve Days of Relic Knights: Day Seven
Update #68 · Dec. 20, 2012 · 6 comments

The holidays are serious bidness and that means you need a serious soldier. No one excels at the serious art of war better than Black Diamond. In honor of these stone-cold, guns for hire, lets have another verse.

On the seventh day of Relic Knights, Santa Soda gave to me -- a Black Diamond, Black Dragon, the elite of the elite, seriously these guys are so elite they could kill you will their pinky, never mind their state of the art power armor and weaponry, yours if the price is riiiiiiight.

That's a very good point: I went for BD is because a) I happen to like the military/police aesthetic they have going on, and b) if I ended up not liking the game itself, they seem like they are the figures most likely to be able to be blended into other game systems.

There would doubtless be some scale issues, but I could, for example, see using those Black Dragons in an Iron Core game, say.

Very few of the other factions seem to have the "cross-purpose" nature, as near as I can tell. Although if you consider using them in fantasy, Doctrine and Noh, and I suppose the mostly pirate miniatures, could be used in Warmachine for example. Hmmm... just had an idea for using the Corsairs for Cryx pirates....

Black Diamond are probably one of the more popular factions for the reasons you've stated. But I believe it's also important that at the end of the day you're happy with the purchase you've made and ultimately with the models themselves. Regardless of where my BD troops end up, I'm happy with what they look like (from what we've seen, at least).

Update time again!

Project Update #69: The Twelve Days of Relic Knights: Day Eight
Posted by CoolMiniOrNot Like

The holidays are supposed to be a time of giving. Giving isn't really a concept understood in the far reaches of wildspace, where resources are scarce. For many piracy is not just the natural solution, it's the only solution.

One the eighth day of Relic Knights, Santa Soda gave to me -- a second Star Nebula Corsair who will ruin your day with a wry comment about your pathetic swordplay, promptly stick you with the business end of her blade, then steal all your toys, oh nooooooooooes.

No clown shoes, and the face is OK, but it isn't all that spectacular.

Outside of Black Dragon and maybe Noh, I'm starting to get a bit worried about this one...

I liked how this game has wildly different models from other systems so I went for all the factions. I only picked up BD for One shot and the little tanks. I couldn't care less about all their troopers and I don't know why people are so in love with them, but to each their own.

Anime eyes look more interesting than black dots, so I'm liking these previews. People that are upset because they ordered minis from an anime themed game that look anime-like need to have their heads examined!

I think given these are mostly "rank and file" squad troops that they look fine and I wasn't expecting the detail level of the named characters I'll be more interested to see how the character and KS exclusive sculpts turn out but given the digital renders of the void herald look good I live in hope.

I've had a better look at the male novitiate and have to agree it's not a great sculpt needs more work it seems to be misproportioned and while the artwork did have the big shoes they weren't that big.

There's a key distinction that you're failing to make. Being anime inspired or "anime-like" isn't the same thing as having little to no detail - especially where faces are concerned.

While I didn't order Tycho & Gabe, I can understand why people aren't pleased with those models. They have no face. It's more like a ski-mask with eye and mouth holes. This is particularly disappointing when you look at other existing Soda Pop miniatures.

For example: Prefect Jakob, Prefect Valeria, or Prefect Veronica

You'll notice they all have clearly definable facial features and not just a blank face-like canvas. Of course, all this is based solely on pictures we've been provided, not the actual models in front of us. Things may be different then.

So far, I haven't been blown away by what's coming. Certainly not to the extent that I regret just going for the SDE minis.

Especially as Doctrine was one of the factions I was going for, the novitiates have been the only big disappointments so far.

Well if nothing else they faithful to the artwork seriously why did they choose these they are too early a WIP to be worth posting it starting to feel like Doctrine are getting the short end of the stick - I bought a set of these and at $10 for 3 it's not the end of the world but I wouldn't have bought them based on these pictures.

The Twelve Days of Relic Knights: Day Nine
Update #70 · Dec. 22, 2012 · 1 comment

While the wielder's of Esper are powerful indeed, they are far too few in number to threaten the great organizations of the universe, let alone to stop the Darkspace Calamity. To fill their ranks the Doctrine creates powerful Esper infused constructs. With Esper granting them a limited sentience and witch-sight they are a match for even the deadliest warrior. Lets sing about one such construct with our next verse.

On the ninth day of Relic Knights, Santa Soda game to me -- three Doctrine Academy Guard, silent and menacing guardians of the grounds, their burning gaze piercing your soul and unraveling your fate, avert your eeeeeeeyes.

I like what I can see, but they are indeed early works and a bit too far away

(wonder if one sculptor did the design and this was then reinterpreted by two others since they all look to use different putties, and most sculptors would always use the same putty for the same job)

Could be one was a master sculpt of a body, then others were in-process casted using a resin of some sort to make more bodies. The one on the right looks like greenstuff over resin as a modification. Don't know, just guessing.

I do really like these guys so far, though! I think my other half has Doctrine, but I don't remember how we divided up our GTGTA pledge any more... I think we're gonna have to fight it out to see who gets what once all the minis are actually done!

The one Doctrine model I wish didn't hew to the concept art. Everything else for Doctrine keeps to the "giant anime high school" theme from such anime/manga/light novels as Mahou Sensei Negima, Zero no Tsukaima, A Certain Magical Index, and Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou. These guys look like Dementors from Harry Potter got lost in a crystal palace.

The Twelve Days of Relic Knights: Day Ten
Update #71 · Dec. 23, 2012 · 4 comments

We're in the home stretch now! This next verse should be sung very softly lest you catch its attention. Believe me, having the attention of the Noh Empire is the last thing you want.

On the tenth day of Relic Knights, Santa Soda gave to me -- a Noh Empire, Serpent Priestess, beloved voice of Nozuki, bewitching your mind with her serpent's tongue and rending your soul with her flashing blade, the grinch has nothing on heeeeeeeeeer.

I'm really glad to see how the Priestess came out: she (along with the Void Herald render) tipped me to finally backing this project.

Heh, my only complaint with my two choices (Noh and Black Diamond) is that I can't use the Marie-Claude figure with them! I think...

Also, in case anyone was curious about its fidelity to the concept art;

Priestess looks top notch, probably should have gone noh but played it safe with black diamond and shattered sword.

Now this is more like it glad I bought 2 of them should be easy enough to convert the right arm so that it's in the artworks pose for a bit more variety - Noh have turned out really well they were always my first choice faction

Today's update!

The Twelve Days of Relic Knights: Day Eleven
Update #72 · Dec. 24, 2012

Well the old Santa Claws is just a day away from unsheathing the fierce claws that are his namesake and casting judgement on who's been naughty or nice. Don't you sometimes wish you could go back in time and redo it? You know, really make sure you were as naughty as possible? Our next model doesn't just wish it, thanks to her chronometric device she does it. Lets get singing, keep up that tempo!

On the eleventh day of Relic Knights, Santa Soda gave to me -- the Star Nebula Corsairs' lovely Miss Moffet, who we were certain we saw yesterday, or maybe it was last month, didn't your mum say she saw her as a little girl, wait is that a photo of her from the Great War, how old is she really, don't ask it's not polite, watch out she's behind yoooooooou!

Not sure how I feel about the face the angle makes it seem like her face is huge. I lips look botox upped

I can't tell if I do as I find their green 'green' very hard to see detail on

The body/pose look ok - it's hard to tell on the face with just green stuff.

Relic Knights Kickstarter from Soda Pop - The Ongoing Update Thread! @ 2012/12/25 01:57:53

Post by: Dentry

The pose is okay. Her corset/bustier looks wrinkled and her boobs are lumpy all around - these observations are strictly from the front shot in the update picture.

It's wanting in comparison to the artwork.

Of the Star Nebula Corsair models that have been previewed during these 12 Days of Christmas, the only one I'm satisfied with was the male from Day Four.

I think my problems with the model can be summed up thus:

A: Face is a little too angular.
B: Bows look more like horns.
C: Drillhair is too small and too static. It needs to stand out more from her body.

A Christmas Day update - wow!

The Twelve Days of Relic Knights: Day Twelve
Update #74 · Dec. 25, 2012

Merry Christmas! For those of you who don't celebrate Christmas, we nonetheless wish you season's greetings and hope that your day is full of friends and family.

As we head into the final verse, we hope that all of you have enjoyed our run of previews and rules updates. We still have several months to go before launch time and we'll continue to post regular updates as we go. Lets get singing!

On the twelfth day of Relic Knights, Santa Soda gave to me -- a Cerci Speed Circuit, Royal Wrecker, the ultimate in raceway carnage clearing, now featuring improved grabby claws and rivet guns, putting the "wreck" in Roooooooyal!

I was to choose between this and the serpent priestess and I chose this, I really wished I chose the priestess.

I don't like it all the extras added ruin it for me the massive tank behind it, the grabclaw seems just stuck there, I also do not like how they changed the legs from the concept to something tubular and thick and that the slave arms do not mimic the master arms.

Holy Carp! This looks really cool, and I hate the idea of a new game system with my core but this looks sweet and the no die rules are cool.

Looks good. Minor preference: wish the face was a bit fuller and not so gaunt. Hopefully looks better on the actual model.

The Corsair models haven't been all that great yet, which is weird. The Blowhard better look like the concept art...

 lucasbuffalo wrote:

Because her legs go into its legs, rather than hanging limply like the Baby-Carrier. There's a pic in the GK Codex that has a GK with his legs in the DK's legs (ie. when the Dreadknight design was smaller) and it looks great.

Has anyone had any success in adding additional items to their pledge?

I recently got into Super Dungeon Explore and would like to add some of them items to my pledge, but after 2 e-mails to CMON, I haven't gotten an answer.

It may be to late as in update 59 they said the pledge manager would be closed at the end of December

(and presumaby they are on Xmas/New Year break at the moment so might not be arround to un-lock a completed survey anyway)

and just to check, you are using the email address they provided for contacting them about KS stuff?

kickstarter@coolminiornot.com

as they don't really look at the KS contact messeges one the KS ends

The first e-mail was well before Christmas. The second one only a few days ago. Hopefully I'll get a response.
And yeah, I used that kickstarter e-mail.

Keeping my fingers cross. I'm loving all the 12 days of Christmas things!

New batch of sculpts coming through:

There's a whole lot going on here at Soda Pop HQ as we work towards launch. The rulebook, sculpting, and mold making are humming along, so it seems like a perfect time for another batch of model updates!

Lets start off with with the Shattered Sword Paragons. These mighty paladins are some of the most renowned warriors in the universe, and they will be in the thick of the fighting as the Darkspace Calamity seeks to consume the Last Galaxy.

So long as the rest the Shattered Sword match the Paragon in design and quality, I'll be happy.

If they had these images to show earlier, I'm thinking more people would've gone with Shattered Sword.

Very glad I got 2 sets of these (I had to check my CKPM to make sure) - whilst the regular Shattered Sword troops are a bit plain the special stuff is well a bit special.

I keep wondering if I could cast Candy's sword in brass or just heavy aluminum and then magnetize it so I could use it as an actual can opener. That would be awesome.

And really liking the purifiers! The previous concept pics of the faction didn't really do it for me, but the more I see, the more impressed I am!

The face on the first purifier is a frightening thing. The Void Reaper and other Purifiers are impressive and I'm looking forward to seeing them in the plastic.

Also, anyone want to start a new thread for this in news & rumor? I believe under the new Dakka policy we're allowed as much.

Void Reaper looks great. Candy & Cola are pretty cool. Marie-Claude is growing on me (although I doubt she'd like to hear someone say that about her, 'cause it sounds kinda icky!).

When's this stuff coming again?
