Not likely!!! Russ is pretty much a space-viking, and a bad-assed one at that. Robby there is a rule-book writing.... "warrior poet" / Statesman.
Russ would use Guillimans left femur to stur the stew he's making for his pet Wolves... A Stew made of Guilliman and Beer.
However I don't see this happening at all, as it's too obvious an out-come, especially with a good writer at the helm. I think that if anything Russ will slap Guilliman back into his senses and a deeper, more real threat will be uncovered under the surface of Ultramar, something Guilliman isn't responsable for, and something he could have never imagined was hiding in his lands. That being said...

but, i just finished reading this thread over the last day or so, and by the emperor! this is amazing! i've basically said 'screw ap studying' at this point, and can't help but join the chorus of people demanding MORE!
p.s.
it will be amazing to: a) see the ultramarines actually have to fight (what with always being on the other side of the galaxy and all that) and b) see how they fare with no plot shield!

Last I checked An'ggrath the Unbound has only been defeated (on two separate occasions) by Grey Knights (and an UNGODLY amount of them too) not Sanquinus. (You said biggest and Baddest Bloodthirster in existance)
What happened at the Siege of Terra during the heresy would probably have been more impressive had it not been a PRIMARCH who bested the Bloodthirster. (A task many an inquisitor lord/ Grey Knight captain has done plenty of times).
Now Russ took Magnus, one of the strongest of the Primarchs, an kicked his ass. He challenged the most powerful sorcerer of all time, on his home turf, and broke his back.
Russ is going to Eat Guilliman, then ask the new Nice-Guy Magnus to cast a spell on him to send him back in time so he can kick Horus and Sanguinus's asses just to prove he can.
Leman Russ is the Goku of Warhammer 40000.
