You may be surprised to know that greographic locallity plays a big roll in any battle in fact I think it may just be required

I've looked through my books and 9 is one for the ones I'm missing (stopped at 6 apparantly lol) so that would be Great thanks.

I've finished the LR all detail done I'll wait for tomorrow for better light and take soem photos hopefully catching the detail and not washing out.
I've added bullet holes and some more damages while paints some contrasting panels to break up the blackness of it and the old school FireHawks

The colours are;
Bestial Brown or Calthan Brown (basically the same colour)
Graveyard earth
Bleached Bone
Skull White
Devlan Mud Wash
The first few colours go one layered more as a coat
then the raised areas are picked out with lighter colours and finished with a 50/50 white and bone before washing with devlan to deepen the shadows, but I deliberately use a damged brush to
apply the highlights, I'll do the tut and you'll see what I mean.

Those are the same colors I use on my skeletons. Looking forward to seeing the tutorial. Great stuff!

I did something like that, using the flaming skull from the Warhammer Wizards box.

Now thats cool !!!!!!! Had the Idea while waiting for a delayed train.

I had some done ages ago a friend GS'd up for mebut as cool an idea they are they don't really fit in with my vision for the army though that flaming skull guy is fairly awesome

@ Dee - I got that info from you ty, I'm looking into using him but I would need to re do my chapter amster mini but still great rules I can't overlook it.

Tomorrow is my build the legion day, I'll have the last tac squad done and make a start on the Terminators and a vindicator tank which I have to half scratch build.

This weekend will be a skave thing and it will likely bleed into next wekk as well so I want to finish the oop component part of the legion before that happens.

I would totally love to see a gutted out Storm Raven with vast holes in the hull so you can see the interior. Would be sweet, but also a lot of work

Going back to the painting station for a moment GW's lame excuse is they are "Out Of Stock" A big games company like them, now that just makes me want to give up and play video games.

I'm stepping these guys up and hoping to get a lot more done this week than previously thought,
I just have to finish assembly on the 2nd tac squad do flames on the LR's exhuast before Miss Dee explodes and convert up the dread.
These guys are almost done and I'm exteemely happy with the turnout so far.

In other news I have a preview of the project that will follow the Legion in the next few weeks.



An Austrlaian armed forces themed Imperial Guard army.

It will be an infantry army cashing in on the mighty power of "stupid amounts of flashlights eventaully burn something"
and will again have many custom parts, torso's heads and vehicles... should be fun.

This project will take over once the legion have been completed and at least for the moment replace the Skave as my focus army (the skave having 2500 points at thier desposal as is even if some is partly under construction, and not saying the Skave project will finish just that the updates will be slower as most of what is left is custom stuff and takes longer to do and do again in large
amounts).

*Goes into typical American mode* Are they going to have kangaroos and base jumpers and 'utes? At least 1 of those is a good idea.

@Santobell: Are we going to see a little bit of a Mad Max Theme for this?

There is a WWI australian made armored scout car called the dingo which was basically an amored ute with a forward mounted heavy machine gun, Iwill be making these to use as
sentinals... so yeah utes will be in the army.

As far as heavy vehicles go there will be the Mark 5 Centurian and the Vickers light tank (google away)

The rank and file units will be based on WWI, WWII and some modern units such as the SASR troops and the Roo's deep recon unit.
as well as units from WWII such as the 111th water transport devision which was a special demolitions brigade who's job was to take out logistic targets behind enemy lines
(My great grandfather was greatly decorated for his action in this unit).

But for a country built on the backs of convicts and conscripts I think there is room for some kind of Max style trade off in at least one fo the units, but it will not be the focus of the army.

Looking very nice, can we see an army shot of the whole army? What do you plan to add after the termies, are the dreads still in the pipeline somewhere?

@ Young_Logan - Dreads will be this weeks purchase, tomorrow if not on the weekend. I have some web design work I need to finish this week so although I'll be getting the dreads I don'tknow if
I'll get to assemble the two of them before weeks out so likely some shots will go up next week.

Once I get the arms on these last guys and finish them off with a highlight I'll get some pics of everything so far.

I'll try and get to it tonight but my brushes are all but dead from the landraider so we will see how it looks.

@Dee - The flames on the exhuast, are you talking about real flame coming out of decorative flame on the panel work?

I want to keep adding to this army but, I could be here forever with them, I think of all the things I would like to do I would have to say a battle ravaged Stormraven is the one
I'd probably be doing in the near future though I'd love to do something bigger like T-Hawk or even a small project like a Dreadknight merged with a dreadnaught so it's not open at the front.
I'm trying (failing) to keep to a schedule with my armies, with the exception of the Skave (which I knew would be a long term thing).

Here is a list and progress for the armies I'm building;
Legion of the Damned - need dreadnaughts and some painting/assembly
Imperial Guard - have 50% of the units need tanks and command squads
Tyranids - Have 100% of the miniatures need to do this one day
Tau or Eldar - Have about 25% of the mins for both just not sure on the direction I want to go with them.
Dark Eldar or Orks - Have zero the new DE stuff is great but the Orks well there Orks and are just Orky good.

All the while building the Skave as I go.
