I'm sure GW will be more than willing to release a 4 metal version bitz kit for a moderate($20) fee like Meltas and Plasmas.

The scourges and Talos/Cronos are truly, truly beautiful models... I am really impressed with GW right now, esp as we get more and more close looks. The Cronos 360 on the GW site is particularly awesome!

Regarding the Razorwing, I am nearly positive that it is a dual CW/DE kit. Nothing in the sillouette screams DE to me in particular, and with a simple paint and weapon swap, I would have no problems accepting it as a CW model. In fact, if you look closely at the pics, it appears to have plenty of soulstones on it, just painted up as hull color for DE... I dunno, I could be way off...

Wow, those Scourges look amazing; so glad I decided to wait instead of convert some.

The Razorwing looks nice, but I think the Scourges stole the show for me. I'm really surprised they look so brilliant.

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to showcase plastics. How is this going to work as far as distribution? Ae we looking at a limited run? Direct Sales?

I've seen that Homoculous is already out. Our local shop had some of them and they looked just like the old one in a new blisterpack. The named one was a little bit bigger, but not by much maybe a couple of mm. He still had his lament box, as well. Had him up there along side the new Lilith Hesperex.

About the range in general? It looks great. No complaints, if they can keep the consistancy, of course it's too bad they are so pip to pop the resins... It won't do those sprues a bit of good, and I can already see the prices !@#$ing up the roof.

I was going to pick up a box or two of those witches, until I saw them up over the 30 buck mark.

Good looking figs, either way.

I won't lie, it's silly, but still cheaper than many other hobbies. I remember paying $60 for a slick 3" pneumatic ram as part of a paintball guns forward pneumatics (not including the 3-way switcher or pressure regulator) and then another $10 for two quick exhaust valves for the ram. don't even get me started on $400 electronic trigger assemblies.

I'd be willing to bet that a lot of the reason Tyranids aren't selling is also because the new must-have units just don't have models. Tyrannofexes and Tervigons are seen as the two new MCs that you have to use, yet there's no models and even no examples of how to convert one. Then the Tyranid Prime everyone seems to think doesn't have a model, and you've got a codex with rules but no models for the units everyone wants.

Pretty much. Even harpies don't have models, and those are used moderately often in lists.

All of kits are f'n amazing. I don't remember the last time I've been so please with an army release. I hope they finish up with another wave of missing models. All of the plastics in this army are phenominal. I don't play DE, but I buy the kits just to paint. I'm slowly coming to the descision that I'm going to take up a new DE army!!

I wish they had more sculptor's - they could work on Tyranid and Space wolves to apease that fanbase.

Hmmmm... I'm not entirely convinced, but I certainly know what you mean; some of those weapons and the front half of the Razorwing in particular looks very Craftworld Eldar-ish; you know, you could be right Tom, but I'm not sure about some of the spikey bits, but I suspect they could work similar to the attachment of the railing on the Venom. Good call Tom; you could be onto something. At the very least it could be quite an easy conversion.

It's not the number of sculptors (no apostrophe) but the amount of plastic GW is budgeted to produce per year. They can only have so many sprues while staying under budget.

These models are sick. Really love the theme we're seeing in the coven stuff. Reminds me of the Strogg from Quake II, and I loved their design. Also very impressed with the Venom. Was looking at the codex picture the other day and it looked a bit out of theme from the raider models and I am happy to see they tied the styles together beautifully. The scourges were some of the last models I had intended to collect, if ever, but seeing these - I'll be buying my fair share, and sooner than anticipated - they are simply amazing.

For what it is worth (that is, not much!), I agree with Tom - it looks very Craftworld Eldar to me too!

After seeing these, my gf's Kabalite Warriors may be getting some friends... disguised as Birthday, Anniversary and Xmas presents...

On the models themselves:

Talos and friends - very nice concepts, even better boxed set full fo extra bits to use for conversions in AdMEch and Slaaneshi armies.

Scourges are so-so, but allow plenty of bits for non-DE conversions.

Im just wondering is DC Comics will stir up a C&D letter concerning the not-Batwing... seriously, when I was a kid I had a larger version of that after the Batman Returns/Batman and Robin cinema releases.

Yeah, I'm hoping not to start a GWS\PP holy war or anything, but when I first saw the new Talos, I immediately thought wow, that looks like a warjack without legs. They really went in a different direction. I like it, though I also did like the mechanical scorpion, too.

I can't believe how good the quality on this entire line has been (with two notable exceptions). I always though DE were the second lamest faction (with Eldar being the lamest), but the new aesthetics they've added have made them, in my opinion, one of the best looking. Maybe even second best looking, after the new Grey Knights (who have their own notable exception).

im still not thinking the wracks and grotesques will be metal. looking at the talos kit in plastic, and alot of the bits and whatnot could easilly be the same for wracks. just smaller. i believe we will see plastic hamey units soon enough, alongside the flyers. (characters will be metal though). im also sort of wondering if we will see any other special characters come out? like malys or vect?
