In an attempt to raise the profile of Infinity, I'm creating a list of all the various painting blogs on Dakka that I know of, as they sink into the depths very quickly. If you know of any others, leave a comment and I will update the first post.
Please let me know the url, blog title and which forces it covers.
I'm sure there must be more around... but these are the ones that I know of. I'm sure I've seen one with BlueDagger's stuff in, including his review of the case... but can I find it again? Can I heck.
Great stuff, EndT, this is a very good idea. We can discuss stickying some threads in the Growing a Community thread.
I have a Necromunda blog using Infinity Miniatures. Link is in my signature if you want to add it to the list. If not i understand.
Automatically Appended Next Post: I think we should post here whenever we update our blogs, that way the thread will stay fresh and keep conversation up. What do you think?

My blog is here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/439688.page.
I've started to put pics of my three armies together on here.
Don't expect award winning paintjobs (you won't be getting them).
I paint so that they look coherent at 3', not exceptional at 3".
My terrain and table pics will go up there as well.
Some of the minis (about 40%) took a tumble off the table (I bumped the table and they fell 3' to the hardwood floor, scattering bits everywhere) and have to be rebuilt and touched up - so these are mostly the "befores".
I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
That is not dead which can eternal lie ...
... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.
Should adjust mine to Haqqislam and 'Various'... since I get really really easily distracted by cool Infinity models. I have as many Ariadna as Haqqislam right now!
"-and all that time in Paris, when you were wallowing in debauchery with your doxies, tarts and pirates... you were trying to convince me you were a disgusting, swinish, lecherous, drunken sot... Well I want you to know it worked.
This is the usual welcome post made by Bostria in the official forums, it has all the rules videos.
Hello and welcome.
I personally think that these videos are the best way to get into the game, even before reading the rulebook. Because they give you a slightly vision of how the game mechanics works.
Also, a video about the “Impetuous” rule:
Smoke Grenades Video:
These next three videos are about an specific “Camouflage” rule.
Also, link to the quickstart rules, the best way to begin progresively learning more and more the game mechanics. Quickstart Rules
Also, I´m going to put a link here to the DEVIL TEAM´S INFINITY ARMY 3.0 wich is a very useful army builder site. Also here is the INFINITY WIKI that is a wikipedia of the rules, very useful.
Some fluff introduction. Seems to me that someone pasted the text from the videos there.
Infinity (wargame)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Infinity is a science fiction skirmish-level tabletop miniature wargame produced by Corvus Belli. Set about 175 years into the future, players of the game enact a skirmish between opposing forces using 28 mm scale miniatures and utilizing a flexible order system, allowing involved gameplay for both players regardless of whose turn it is.
One hundred and seventy-five years into the future, the human race has reached the stars.
The old nations have grouped themselves into great international federations and have allotted among themselves the star systems that are adequate for human life. These new powers continue to be moved by the age-old driving forces of human history: the quest for living space, resources and power. Confrontation and conflict are the norm, whether open or concealed, of high or low-intensity, of long or short duration…..the profession of soldier in this epoch is far from dull…
The present is a critical and decisive moment….Will humans become fully aware of what they’re up against? Will they continue with their internecine struggles for larger slices of power? What will be the destiny of Mankind? The Chinese curse has come to pass and the Interesting Times are approaching…
Factions & Armies.
PanOceania is the Nº1. Great Power of the Human Sphere. It owns the greatest number of planets, has the richest economy and possesses the most advanced technology. Pragmatic and generous, PanOceania is a melting-pot of cultures, heir to the best democratic and welfare traditions of the West. Proud of itself and somewhat domineering, it can claim to have the most technically sophisticated society and army in the Sphere and likes to brag about it.
PanOceania has at its disposal complete planetary armies including the highly technological Neoterran Capitaline Army and the hardened Shock Army of Acontecimento, but also can call on the religious fervour and unique combat styles of its Military Orders.
The competitor, the other great power, the eternal rival always conspiring and intriguing to bring down its adversary is Yu Jing, the Asiatic giant. The entire Far East is united beneath the banner of what was once China but which has now formed a single, though varied, oriental culture. Product of great industrial and technological development and a forceful, thriving economy, Yu Jing is determined to achieve the dominant position which it aspires to.
Yu Jing has the sinister Imperial Service, the armed wing of the Emperor and the Imperial System, the judicial organ of the StateEmpire. But its spearhead will always be the Japanese Sectorial Army, an assault-oriented military force with a strong warrior vocation and driven by the code of Bushido.
Ariadna is made up of the descendants of the first human colony ship that disappeared into a worm-hole and was given up for lost. Isolated on a remote and hostile planet, the Ariadnans – Cossacks, Americans, Scots and Frenchmen – have evolved into a hard and technologically less advanced race, which has just made contact with the Human Sphere and is trying to carve out a niche for itself without falling under the control of the other powers.
Ariadna focuses all its savagery in its Caledonian Highlander Army, an overwhelming force as uncontrollable as it is irrepressible in battle. On the other hand, the Merovingian Rapid Response Force, created to solve crisis situations, is always the first to make contact with the enemy.
Haqqislam, the New Islam, is a smaller power which possesses only a single star-system, Bourak. Separating itself from fundamentalism, Haqqislam bases its culture on an Islam which is humanistic, philosophical and in continuous contact with nature. Biosanitary Science and Terraformation are the two major strengths of Haqqislam, which includes the best schools of medicine and planetology in the Human Sphere.
Haqqislam is the great power of interstellar trade, so its primary advocate, the Funduq Sultanate, has created the Qapu Khalqi, an army that unites the best of the Sword of Allah with mercenaries and corsair elements, to protect the trade and traffic of valuable Silk. Meanwhile, the objectives of the faith and the ideals of Haqqislam are preserved thanks to the clandestine actions of the Hassassin Bahram, the Haqqislamite Military Intelligence service.
The Nomads consist of three enormous ships whose inhabitants, discontent with a society controlled by huge macroeconomic blocks and by A.I., have separated themselves from it and roam through space, travelling from system to system. Tunguska is dedicated to the traffic and storage of information. Corregidor offers skilled labour at a good price, while Bakunin trades in all that is exotic and illegal in whatever area, from fashion to nano-engineering.
The Nomads have an army to protect each of their mother ships. The Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor has been forged in many battles, working as a mercenary force in addition to its service to the Nomad Nation. The Jurisdictional Command of Bakunin exploits the potential of the bizarre society of VaudeVille and the forbidden sciences developed in the Black Laboratories of Praxis.
The Evolved Intelligence contemplates the Human Sphere as another link to be added to the chain of civilizations under its dominion. For its part, the Combined Army, at the EI’s orders, considers the Sphere as a new military target to conquer, protected by distance and logistical difficulties, but in no way impregnable to these terrible alien forces. The Combined Army is an amalgam of dangerous alien racial armies.
The brutal and resolved Morat Aggression Forces never withdraws and is able to completely devastate any battlefield. However, the perfidious Shasvastii Expeditionary Forces use deception and treason to make the master strike that will end any enemy of the Evolved Intelligence.
ALEPH is the unique Artificial Intelligence controlling the data networks and technological systems of the entire Human Sphere. In service to Humanity, and under the watchful eye of O-12, it encompasses a range of responsibilities so wide that a massive organizational structure has formed around it to accomplish its designated objectives.
Who can know what ALEPH thinks? Its representatives will tell you that for the AI, the Sphere is its home and its responsibility: that which it was created to help and with which it will walk towards the future, putting all its efforts to Humanity’s service. Its detractors, the Nomad Nation, will assure you that for ALEPH the Sphere is a playground, a puppet theatre to manipulate, a simple means to a singular end, which is total domination by ALEPH itself.
For the various Mercenaries the Sphere is a place full of working opportunities with which to do profitable business. All those clandestine operations governments cannot undertake legally are assigned to these professionals of conflict. The border territories, with weak or non-existent laws and where the strength of arms solves any quarrel, are the natural home to those who make war at the highest bidder’s service.

Thanks for the posts BobbaFett, but the aim of this thread was to just gather together the painting/modelling threads from Dakka. Those videos and text will be great for the "Welcome to Infinity" thread that BlueDagger was talking about though
Thanks for the contributions so far; great work in all of the threads.

I can see why; the very first model you see is a Reverend Moira's equator.
I find the cover mechanic quite silly, as explained in Video #3; your covering fifty percent of the model, but since your not in base to base contact it doesn't count as being in cover?

I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.
I know you have done so much to try and spread Infinity around the internet, so your efforts are really appreciated!
It is sad that so many blogs have come and gone over the past few years. But, now that we have a firm base of operations for Infinity I firmly believe there will be a 'tipping point' in terms of how many people use the site, and will continue to post. Now, all we need is a little help from the powers that be in terms of making a sticky for perhaps 1 or 2 threads.

I think it makes sense if you think of a model behaving in a dynamic manner, and the deadly nature of modern warfare (and the weaponry used). If you are up next to cover, it stands to reason that the unit would be using that cover to protect themselves. Like the 'cover mechanic' of games like Gears of War/mass effect, they will be hiding themselves as well as possible, just emerging to snap off a shot etc. However, if they are interposed between covers and stood in the open, what will they be doing? If they are moving quickly, they will be stood up - anyone with a rifle has got a clear shot on their central body mass (or not for that matter), the rocks halfway partly obscuring legs and feet won't make any difference. Or, they could throw themselves prone - as it happens, you can do this in the rules (ARO permits short movement order as part of 'dodge', which includes going 'prone'). So, in that case you have a chance to dodge that shot, as well as placing yourself out of LOS for further shots coming your way.
At least that is how I always thought of it anyway!
Thanks for your insight on that Pacific. It's the only thing i had really struggled with envisioning from the Infinity rules but i totally get it now you have described it that way.
On topic: Has anyone updated their blog? I'm painting a test model right now for mine.

Thanks, dude! I'm hoping my model will arrive tomorrow and i can build my gang leader, then it's time to paint them! The only interruption will be my 'Nids and the painting comp. Actually, thats quite a lot of interruptions, lol!
