I think the fact they have gone to the trouble of sculpting on the chapter badge and a different tactical arrow guarantees that these are the 6th Edition starter set Marines.

Actually, it's the fact that they're in the paint set that makes that guarentee.

I hope they follow the Starter Set and Paint Set pattern by not having molded Chapter symbols in the Starter set.

I pondered this earlier. The paint set UMs had the moulded inverted omega but the starter set did not. I'm hoping the starter set is fairly Chapter neutral again.

I actually hope that those DA symbols are not molded on. Gunna be hard to explain why my BA have Dark Angels symbols...

Unless you plan on just buying that paint set I doubt there will be an issue. The ones in the starter set likely won't have sculpted chapter detail like that.

Honestly, even if they are molded on the DA chapter symbols, its plastic so it would take like 2 minutes to file or cut off. I know it's extra work but... I am just glad another chapter is getting the spotlight like the BT's did in third edition.

This "all Ultramarines, all the time" thing really only started in 4th ed(though they did feature heavily in the 3rd ed standard marine codex art).

You Know with all this talk about chaplian squads, I would not be surprised if we got a duel deathwing/chaplian termie box.

Apparently the 5th ed codex was supposed to be Codex Ultramarines, thats why it's so over the top Ultramarine. But at the last minute it was changed to Codex Spacemarines.

Doubt it. The old Paint set had UM markings molded on the Marines' shoulders and AoBR didn't.

And at the last minute they added in Lysander, Vulkan, et al? If you're just talking the name change, well they did that in 2nd. They've kept it "Codex: Space Marines" since 3rd, and will continue to do so.

The Dark Angels' "dark secret" was that they were a chapter of Marines in the closet. That of course was back in the 80s, when the game was small and mostly just a bunch of British guys snickering in their studio. They changed that with 2nd edition, and with good reason.

Start swapping out 2+ savers and swapping in any ++ you can get in tac lists because your flgs is going to be hip deep in plasma weapons for the foreseeable future.

If you really say you have a legit source then it's a legit rumor. I could not tell if it was something you "knew", or something you thought was likely.

sanguinary preists give you furios charge and feel no pain i dont know about wolf gaurd but what would chaplains do?? make you fearless or give you a combat boost

from a almost pure xenos player... i really dont think we need MOAR space marine kits. really... i believe everything in all current SM codex have models in plastic, save for a few special characters wich exist as fine/fail/fumble/faux/etc-cast. just release the codex to update the rules, maybe throw in a plastic terminator captain kit or something, then give us more tyranid, chaos, eldar, tau, ork etc plastic kits.
