Alas, with very characterful army, it tends to blur together in group shots.

How are you handling squad identification?

samwell - Glad you found a favourite, everyone should have one. Or two or three.

weety - Well, as long as it's a good heart attack then everything's fine I can fully understand the shock though, don't worry, shouldn't happen often enough to be of major concern Although I may still post new pics of the other 2 or 3 finished ones. Make it look like I'm doing something. Plus, it's probably been so long since anyone saw them they might not get recognised

Bangbang - Green's the colour to be, so no worries there. If I painted more often I wouldn't have so much to paint though

Briancj - I know, but it keeps some peeps happy if they see the odd group shot
Now as to squad identification, that's a good question, and a timely one too. Meaning I'd forgotten that bit I'd discounted shoulder brands/tattoos as obviously not every guy gets a shoulder. Same could be said about any part of the body. So I'd thought maybe I could use the spanna glyph in squad colours. However, I forgot all about that idea when actually painting. Another problem with the speed at which I work
None of the nobs have bannas yet, partly for that reason. I may leave it without for now though, it doesn't really bother me that much for these guys, this lot will just get on whatever trukks nearest and go krumpin' with whoever else makes it onboard.

prototype - it was too late anyway, back to the choppin an' cuttin'. It's what it's all abaht innit?

SO not much of anything to show, couple of minor updates on trukks. Did some messing about with some pieces and had a possibly great idea on how to get in a reference to The Highwayman (Dodgy obscure show with Sam Jones (Flash) that had one cool idea that I think I might be able to loot). But later for that...

Tiny bit more to the trukk, also starte on one of the grot riggers, got one boarding plank together, still deciding whether to use make a second or use the one that came with the trukk. Still toying with having the weapon mount on a tower in the gap beside the cab's left, or build up a small turret on top of the one in the cab roof.

And the start of trukk#3. Almost became the cab for trukk#4 but has now become too high for that cab, so back to #3

Dem beaky lan'speeders iz ded killy. 'An dey make pretty good buggiez too, if'n youse can gets 'old of one. Seen lotza good meks do dat. Got dem jets to make it goes fasta, some nice bitz of armour to hack up. Yeah, reel nice. Prob'ly make some meself someday. But dis one I got, well jets woz krumped good, 'ad to toss 'em. Some of da armour woz pretty poor too, fell apart when we woz 'aving a look. So we went an' stuck a propa engine in dere now.

Sleep tight, don't let the paint-squigs bite...

It's amazing how much your models come to life when you paint them. Love all the neons and metallics, so so much. The trukk is shaping up awesome too!

I have a quick question.

I sent a squad of grots over to your house and I havnt heard from them yet.

They where supposed to steal your blueprints on your trukk and bomma.

So if ya see them running around please have them call me.

I miss them.

I think I might have to steal your choppy up the models and make new ones one day.

They way they turn out is just mind blowing. But first I have to finish my Brazen Klawz.

Always fun to see what you come up with next.

Interested to see how you pull off the driver(s). I vaguely recall thinking the two sides of the landspeeder cockpit too small for Orks (back when I was doing Deffkoptas...) Two grotz would work nicely, or an Ork saddling the two sections... I'm sure your wacky brain will have something better in mind - if not now, then eventually

Davidian - Thank you, I'd like to thank all my spores, without who I wouldn't be around, my grots, for keeping me supplied with bitz and my boyz, who help bash things together.
I'll warn the grot-kopta's to look out for incoming teef.

Scarper - Thanks man. Just don't get to used to the idea of full-colour models around these parts. you'll only end up disappointed

schank - I did find a jam-smeared grot arm near the jetty the other day, none of mine claimed it so that's possibly one less. But I have heard a few high-pitched giggles late at night from the far shore, I'll be sure to pass on your worry if I see them.
Your Klawz are moving at a faster rate than my cyborks, so I have no doubt we'll see some choppy/sticky action from you soon

Arakasi - I have two plans in mind at the moment, or more accurately a mix of the two. The idea of legless orks 'plugged' into a base, like on the three-wheeled buggy is one that I'm thinking will re-appear in various vehicles, probably including this one. I've also been toying with the idea of having standing positions for the driver(s) rather than seats (obviously neither applies to those orks without their lower limbs).

It's something I've considered a few times previously, I think orks would rather stand when driving as it's easier to jump around in excitement as the speed builds then And with a high cab it makes sense to trial the idea on this one. Although it may end up with a 'plug-in' driver and a standing navigator/gunner/random passenger. I've never really liked the idea of a central position on the speeder, unless the 'partition' is removed. Or the ork could have bionik eyes that 'periscoped' out either side of it

Llamahead - Oh I don't know, there's something about spending an evening with grots poring over blooprintz.

Now, those are proppa orky meks dey is. Couldn't find better pics sorry, but Paul Bonner's orks are a good basis for my interpretation of orks.

Glad you enjoyed the brief foray into the glorious world of technorkcolour.

Anvildude - Thanks, Upzag spent his early years runnin' wiv da Blood Axes

Yggs - Thank you man, glad you could stop by. Yeah that brief spurt of colour seems to have slowed to a small dribble of plastic now But glad you found individuality and character, that's my aim.

Big Mek Dattrukk - Shouldn't that have benn 'for yaaagh'

So what have I been doing you ask? Well, since you ask, not much actually.

Started work on the cab wheels and suspension for trukk #1

And put a grot in place

And messed around a bit with the old Ghaz

More dakka added, git-finda on the head and I decided the little skull icons should become mekanikus icons instead. And thanks to the macro spotted two skulls I'd missed Wires to come later, and possibly add something to the arm band. Maybe another cigar, maybe a little box of gubbinz, with more wires, and possibly some studs/outlets on the shoulder-pads. For more wires. That might be a few too many wires.

Sorry it was so brief, next time I'll make us a nice cuppa hey? And maybe even some pink wafers?

Thanks guys.

Another tiddler of an update tonight, not much movement seen in the workshops lately...

So for trukk #1 built up a couple of walls to drop behind the grot leaning out the hatch.

Slapped a bit of paint on and slotted in place:

It's not stuck in place yet in case I want to tidy it up a bit, but once the track cover and hatch are in place the grot will be in shadow, let alone the interior behind him.

The left hand axle and suspension were stuck down:

Still need to add some GS where the turning gubbinz are secured by the axle. This wheel has turned slightly more than the right, forgot there'd be a slight angle once I put the plasticard in place. But as they're independently controlled wheels that's not such a big issue

Right drive gubbinz also put in place

Still needs suspension sorting, slightly different style to the left. Although it's tempting to use the 'hi-tek' drive/steering gubbinz as suspension too

Gunner for the 3-wheeler buggy just waiting for mekka-dendritts and sight-implant to be fitted, which will be after painting, so hope he's not holding his breff, 'less of course he's got one of da dok's iron-lungs already installed.

And it's always nice to show da kustoma a choice of 'eads before fitting

Of course, just because they've been offered a choice, doesn't mean they'll get their choice

Be seeing you...

Llamahead - Thanks. Well the blooprintz give you the basic structure, but obviously any good mek is going to deviate from 'da planz' as they discover better ways of doing things

vik -

schank - It's funny, the pile of limbs/heads/bitz keeps growing, but new models keep demanding different options Pretty sure that's not one of yours, we're almost certain it used to belong to Snotnose Tallshanks, whose headless body we found near a grotkopta he'd been sent to work on.

weety - help yourself, don't mind the cup with boobies on, no idea how I came into possession of that

Davidian - Thanks! My orks claim some kind of ancestory from a Wurzel Gummidge, not been able to find any references in the Imperial databases Well, biscuits are over in that jar...no, not that one. Those are grot fingers you're chewing on now. The next one along, yes, better. Weety's probably nabbed all the pink wafers by now though. And none of your servicmen biscuit shenanigans here please

Well, other suspension gubbinz in place, along with a few more rivets. Still unsure as to whether to extend the turret or add a 'tower' for the dakka. I'll try and get some concepts in place to gauge opinions.

And just realised i haven't GS'd around the left steering bitz yet.

Now some of you may recall this lil' fella:

Still essentially faceless, but we have some options now:

green face, lens(although red was a silly colour to test as the 'TV' is red ), eyes on static, EEG blip, static, face on static, miserable attempt at reflective sheet surface(variation on lens basically), face, eye, classic smiley with spilt 'bean juice'.

Looking at them now I realise I really should go chop 'em up and blu-tac each in place and post pics, bit hard to judge like this. Oh, well, maybe later

Thanks for stopping by...umm, what's that you're nibbling now? Didn't think I put any pickled onions out..ooh, I believe those were my squig eyes, oh well...

edit: trust neil to sneak in there after the tea n' biccies. Thanks, Bonner and Gibbons have defining visions of orks for me. This dang trukk rally of Arakasi's (http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/379736.page) has set several ideas runnin' Ghaz isn't worried about digital, just so long as he still gets his 10 minute freeview of Channel O

Thanks graven Led might have been possible before I started the long slow process of applying that coloured stuff Although last time I looked for my stash of leds and resistors they were nowhere to be seen. I'm still torn on the face - I guess that's obvious from the options post huh?
The initial concept was a plain lens when he was undergoing constructive surgery, but when I dubbed him TV-head nebulous visions of static and faces presented themselves. And when he first peeked out at the dakkasphere more ideas came in from friendly dakkanauts.
Lens is nice due to it's basic simplicity, it's a big ol' lens
Face is nice as it's a nod to Evil Edna, and New Vegas (although I didn't know that)
Smiley is nice because it's a nod to Watchmen
Big old eyeball pic is nice because it's a big old eyeball pic (Hey, I have simple needs sometimes )
Static is nice - but I'm thinking it's only 'live' static that's an interesting look, my still-life version not so. Although it's still viable as background. Probably needs a better technique though.
