Might check the DCM forum, see if anyone is doing a FW order to get free shipping. Would cost about a buck for them to ship it to ya.

Base coated in black, dry brushed up to 3 shades of gray cheapo craft store paint leading up to white, then a light and I mean LIGHT beastial brown drybrush in selected areas , aquila is the stone citadel color (waiting for a white top coat) that is about it so far. This will be heavily weathered and rust effects added. This thing has soooo many little details you could drive yourself mad I am picking a few and really trying not to overboard I am also (fingers crossed) going to do object source lighting on the platform, I have always wanted to try it and this will be perfect. I will also be adding black and yellow hazard stripes as well as a drybrush of gunmetal on all the grating.
This should look pretty sweet when complete stay tuned!
Mike

Looks very nice. Are you going to add lots of scorch marks on it? A few oil drips? some fuel spills (pearlescent paint might be cool for this)?

yes, yes , and yes... I was thinking about trying some oil paints I am interested to see how it will look. I will be trying a test piece and will have result pics up as soon as I get a chance.
Thanks for the comments and support,

OK, I'm a sucker for that landing pad.....you've done a great job so far. I'm looking forward to the spills and the grub. What is going to be the light source for the OSL effect?
This is a good article on glowing marine eyes if it helps http://www.coolminiornot.com/articles/1288
As for the stone slate roof, changing the texture does make it look like you've changed the material to an extent. I'm eagerly awaiting the completed roof to pass final judgement...but so far so good.

A lot of you have asked for more detailed pictures of how the city will be laid out, as well as pictures of my IG Army. Well the wife is out with friends and paint is drying so here you go! Have fun and enjoy these, leave some feedback and comments as well
This is a great example of how dense my city can and will be. I am still adding a train shipping yard which will be awesome when I am finished. Again let me know what you think ar just drop me a WOW if you love it.
Thanks as always guys,
Mike

And if you are playing on dense city terrain you need more dozer blades

I can see your point in these pictures, but remember I have a 6x4 foot Realm Of Battle Board that my city will be used with. I took these pictures on a coffee table just because it was more convenient at the time. Thanks for your input thought. And THANKS for the WOW

I need a straight from the hip answer on this one
1) LOVE IT , why?
2) HATE IT , why?
I need help on this one boy-ohs
This is the weathered Aquila for the landing pad. This was pretty labor intensive and only one side is done. Before I do the other side I need your feedback.
Thanks again,
Mike

I both love and hate it at the same time. Love the grittiness of it, but hate (a bit strong of a word) the unnaturalness of it. I couldn't imagine seeing something weathered like that irl.
Only because you asked for hip shot opinion.

Mixed opinions here too guy I really like the semi-stylized look it has, very cool, but not sure that will translate well into working with your other pieces.
Of course it's still wip and that could all change very easily, but that's how I se it atm

Incredible work! Your blog is going to be a great source if inspration when I start my cod apocalypse board!
Did you think of putting some lights on the landing pad with a bit of osl? The effect could work really well if you had the patience to do it.
Another point I must ask, how did you texture the cathedrals roof? It seems very fine and gritty at the same time which is what I have been trying to achieve with sand and PVA with no luck.

Thanks Cain! The roof is 4 light coats of textured spray paint, stone textured by krylon
