New video battle report is up (a while ago). If you're curious about how the game is played, most of the game was filmed live... so you get to see how everything works.
This is a fun little 70 rice Bushido Risen Sun battle report between the forces of the Ito Clan and the Savage wave. The scenario is Muzukashi and we've actually filmed nearly all of it "live" which is why it's been so long since you've seen a new battle report. CV--19 has our home DSL stretched to the limit making it impossible to upload a longer video like this. Special thanks to my father-in-law for allowing me to use his internet which is much more reliable (and faster) than my own.
Also finished the last two "generic" bakemono... these are called raiders. Duplicates of the same figure, slight difference in paint jobs. Only 3 left now, all special characters

Love your bakemono. Tell me, gitsplitta-san, what is there in the way of Oni figs? I'm really looking for a spear wielding lightning Oni, but I'm flexible.

Bakemono family pic minus 3 models. One of the three is painted but it's a bad sculpt with a matching paint job... so I'll spare you the pic. Last two should be fun to paint though. While I was busy adding mushrooms to each model, I realized that I'd never finished painting several of them, so I took care of that while I was at it.

Updated bakemono "family" photograph, this is all of them. Also a new video.
It's really exciting to have all of these done. Two more oni to paint and my entire Savage Wave collection will be painted!
New video is up! Have a new feature for the channel called "OG Paints". I'm going to try and keep these short and pithy and pertaining to specific issues, techniques or projects. NOT a rambling monologue while you watch me paint... good Lord that would suck.
Today I show you some of the ways I work through not having a clear plan when it comes to deciding how I want to paint a figure.

Looking great all together. Shot is especially nice taken in front of your scenery. I’m not much of a video watcher - but I’ll probably check that one out
Great family shot Loads of character in the whole group. The
Nice idea for the short paint videos. One thing that might have been good in this one is to have had some examples where you had finished the 'set' parts so you could see the next steps, rather than just very beginning and end piece. Of course, that would require you to have some at that stage, which might not be handy given the subject
Thanks graven... yeah, I'm pretty much a gonner. Getting to do some play-testing now which is fun and cool. Also with 40k changing drastically in the near future and my marines (like everyone's old marines) getting retconned... there's not much competition for my attention. I'll keep my AdMech up-to-date (mainly by sending things to Damo) but other than that there's not much to interest me.
Actually monkeytroll, that was the original idea, I just got caught up in finishing off the minis so I didn't film anything. The project that I'm working on now for OG paints will have beginning, in-process and end shots.

Subject: Gitsplitta's Unified Painting Theory (5/24: complete bakemono family pic & new video!)
I have been working on a new terrain piece for Bushido... it's called a "Cavern Hole" and goes with my bakemono. Basically a hole in the ground. Of course I had to make it complicated by adding a trap door and block & tackle for opening.
Pulley's made... unfortunately they're non functional. Spent a couple of hours fiddling, then decided it was doable but not worth the effort.
On a side note, this is my 4000th image uploaded onto dakka.
...also...
New video is up!
Bushido Risen Sun battle report featuring Carl's Ito Clan vs. a Savage Wave bakemono horde. 100 rice, Ryodo. I've built a massive bakemono summoning army and am testing the limits of the rules vs. a custom built Ito list. Can the snake lords survive the onslaught? Lets find out.
Please note: Under the current rules, I am doing the bakemono summoning correctly (once per model, per turn). I have confirmed this interpretation with the game designers.

Nice, easy airbrush job. I took a idea from the sculptor and pulled some basing elements up into the bodies of the kamis. Nice thing is these can be taken by three of my factions... so very efficient in terms of painting time. Just had to name them. Props if you get the SNL reference.

Thank you Brian and MT! (I knew you'd get it Brian.)
Yeah, got side-tracked on my trap door project by the desire to get a 100-rice Cult list banged out. I'll get back to it shortly. Currently working on three wreathed-in-smoke skeletons and a zombie Tengu.
