@SilverMK2: I do want to do some Deff Dreads and Kans - but so far down the list they didn't make it... Actually, I'd like to fill out all the options in the Codex eventually, but I am under no illusion how long that might take me! A Mega Deff Dread would be cool - but it sounds like I need to be working towards 1500pts for Silver Sorcerer II and a Mega Deff Dread ain't helping! All excellent ideas though. Would be better if I wasn't scared of trying to achieve the awesomeness of your Daemon Prince and Summoned Greater Daemon!

@monkeytroll: Glad to help!

@whalemusic360: Good idea - the Snikrot as a Namaan reference. He doesn't seem to even get a mention in the DA Codex . Do you have a good source of information I can use - otherwise it may be a reference in name only... I hadn't given Snikrot much thought at this point.... Nobz are highly likely to be part of da Inna Circul, and hence robed. I was planning to base the Waaagh! Banner on one of the DA Banners - but again, thats about as far as my thought process had gone. He was going to be robed though - sorry if my list hides some of the details - but you guys manage to tease it out of me... I hadn't given the Shokk Attack Gun much thought either (I'm detecting a trend...) - so far I'm loving the thunderfire idea - even if I have no idea how to work it (yet) - even if it is ironic (though they might get it later right?)

And now the madness begins...

Riiight. Not while I have less than 2000pts painted. Not this year methinks! If I feel inspired, I might start on some sketches....

Where did the paint brigade go? It sure does seem a conspiracy to tempt me to put modelling before paint... maybe that is what monkeytroll meant...

Haha! My models are not that great (I know my SGD needs a lot more work ). From what I remember of your 1,000 point army (even though it would have kicked my butt if we had played on for a bit longer - my list really didn't work for me ), you could be missing some long range firepower. Dreads are both mobile and can be very shooty (as well as being good inc CC too ). They also make ideal icons for Gok/Mork

Also plenty of options on them for you to stick magnets on

Were my Deffkoptas not long range enough for you? The one that went after your Havocs was unlucky - even if I was surprise to find they had two close combat weapons! He still did his job though

After the Deffkoptas I rely on the Boarding Planks and Fast Trukks. If someone manages to put all three Trukks down in my deployment zone, I'm toast. If they can do that, they can put down a Dread over the three plus turns he takes to close - and Ork shooting is atrocious!

But I agree they do make ideal icons for Gork/Mork, as well as having plenty of options to stick magnets on

Madness? Me?

On a more serious note: I think I still have the old WD were Namaan is first mentioned (an old 40K campaign pack IIRC); if you tell me what you're looking for, i'll see if I can dig it up.

The Namaan model had a chainsword and Asupex (or whatever they're called). Ive got 2 I need to paint up still (one will be a BA)

@CommissarKhaine, @whalemusic360: Any background information that would be helpful to determining a suitable tie-in. A chainsword and Auspex by itself does not scream Snikrot to me... - unless I change his rippy knives to rippy chainknives perhaps... More likely that I do one of the Kommandos mimicking the model pose... (Even a Kommando Nob is difficult, as I'd much prefer to take a Power Klaw, all things considered) - This is still open to suggestion/inspiration though...

@Miss Dee: Which means I'm still not sure where you were going with the Gork and Mork ideas...

@warspawned: Thanks!

If you wanted a power klaw but did not want to model one, you could always give him a power jaw instead? Something nice and metal and big, leaving you free to give him more "fitting" looking weapons?

How about a power scythe? That's very marine like *and* "dark angel" like (i.e. the grim reaper).

@SilverMK2, Gitsplitta: Both excellent suggestions. Not really helping my feeble mind with Snikrot/Naaman, but excellent nonetheless. Will ponder some more...

Looks pretty cool man
At first I thought the individual vanes were all seperated from each other but I think that was just the angle of the pic. Loe the helmet on the top guy too.

Give the stormboyz jetpacks, rokkit-packs and wings...that's pretty damn orky, and pretty damn dark angelly too - well, apart from the rokkit-pack bit

@Everyone: Thanks! The lengths I go to to tempt lurkers to comment...

@Darth Bob: The marines weren't meant to originally overhang by that amount, but when theory and reality collide, well, sometimes you get unexpected results... Those marines may be small, but gee are they bulky! Miss Dee suggested earlier a 40mm base - however it still wouldn't be perfect unless I was prepared to have the ork off centre and the marines cut down more... I'm happy with it for now - its not like a Nob with outstretched arm and wingz is ever going to stay within 25mm... Open to further comment/suggestion though...

@Artsoldier35: Can you articulate what it is about the wingz you don't like? They are not quite what I originally envisioned (see comment above about theory and reality...), but at the moment I think my main problem is they are too clean. I'm hoping some battle damage - chipping, bullet holes etc - plus perhaps some pistons and/or chain might Orky them up more satisfactorily. What do you think?

Some pistons and orky workings would be pretty cool, I was going to suggest it earlier, but I'm not sure there's space for anything there without it becoming a bit too busy?

The problem that I have with the wings is that they seem to start too high up - have you considered lowering them at all? I know there probably isn't enough room, but hey

@Gitsplitta: Just think of it as a challenge No - I am *not* doing the rest of your Stormboyz

@SilverMK2: I think I know what you mean, and if so, no I hadn't considered it. I think you may be right - that there is probably not enough room. I'm certainly not unhappy with it as it stands - so I don't think I'll be pulling it apart to try...

Just to give you guys some more background into the initial concept, these two pics were my starting inspiration for the wings...

American Eagle landing:
http://www.firstpeople.us/pictures/eagles/1280x1024/Bald-Eagle-Landing-1280x1024.html

Necromunda: Yeld Spyrer:
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat490068a&prodId=prod1740000

You will see in both, the wings start at the shoulders and then move up.

Of course, the pose has changed a bit from the original crouching idea I had...

I'm not lurking... I just don't have as much time to look and type a meaningful comment...

I wasn't convinced of the wings before you added... well, the wings. I've been a pure picture kind of blogger lately, so I didn't know you were going to add "feathers". THe helmet wings on the second one look a bit crooked, though.
THose wings sure do a lot for line of sight
