Thanks and thanks! I forgot to mention, as my lift to Silver Sorcerer had arrived - the Rokkit packs, as they are so far, are frightfully easy.

1. Build SM Jump Pack
2. Saw in half
3. Compare halves to Rokkit Packs - some with side detail are not suitable.
4. Compare halves to Rokkit Pack tops - again, some aren't suitable, or need minor cuts.
5. Glue!

Adding to the shoulder pads was trickier...

but damnit, looking at those rokkit paks makes me want to go and get some stormboyz now.

Da Dark Angelz survived Silver Sorcerer, the main day anyway, if a bit battered and bruised. I don't think it will be worth doing full battle reports - especially as none of my games got past turn 3! (Two of them turn 2...) I don't know where I placed - I'll have to find out - I imagine somewhere in the middle of the field. I had two minor wins (12/20), a draw and a loss (6/20) for a total of 40/80 battle points. Will write something up though, hopefully before I forget the memorable moments

I'm glad I got to battle against your orks - some great conversions (and an insane quantity of magnets ).

I think your Chaos were probably my favourite game on Saturday - a great start to the day! And a reminder that I should be focusing on objectives, not Daemon Princes

I always worry that one day Airport Security won't let me take them on the plane... I think I may re-jig a few magnets though - they are my first attempts, and some of them have proven to be more fiddly in setup/play than I expected. Of course, this is really only an issue where time is limited...

I've always wondered how tight airport security is with things like models. If worst came to the worst, would they just put them in the hold? Probably best to phone up in advance and ask what the policy is.

Probably my favorite game of the day too - glad you liked my CSM

Edit: Yeah, I was more comfortable in the 1,500 points range as it let me take a few extra toys that make CSM really good (in my view anyway), which meant that endtransmission had a hard time of it. He played well though, and actually got some kills with his PBS (I think - I know they didn't blow themselves up and were still alive at the end of the game, so that is a positive for him )

Domestic UK I have flown my models in carry on, with magnets, and metal models, probably a dozen times without issue. Da Boss won't let me bring them to Australia with me, so International won't be an issue until I try to get a game with Commissar Khaine

I see more paint on those models. Looking good. Those two nobz are amazing. I'm happy I finally have a way to take part in this fun (the SM/marker trades).

Oh, and as to the disc-deffkopta - you thinking on same style as the incredibles one, with an outer ring? I've been trying to figure out one designed like a single enclosed rotor with the pilot sitting above the 'shaft', weapon pod underneath.

Also any tips you thought up when doing the robes on your orks? I'm thinking of some robed orkus mekanikus as flash gits, and can't think of any robed figures that would work as orks so think it's time to start practising some gs-skills.

Yup - fun had by all - though I wasn't involved in matty's fun... So far I have managed to keep the paint before the 'mekaniks'. Past experience tells me where I'll be at if I don't (sea of grey). Your preference has been noted, though I must admit, I have probably given the Stormraven Deffkopta the least thought. That and I don't really *need* another Deffkopta yet... Then again, I need a Stormboyz Nob even less. Cool projects just can't be stopped can they?

Yes - someone suggested (and pictured) "The Incredibles" one with the outer ring somewhere in my blog history, so it got added to the list What's the stumbling block for your idea? You'll need the outer ring, which will need to be attached to the centre shaft - either above, below or both. Off the top of my head, I'd go above - probably with three or four arched beams equidistant around the ring meeting at a platform that includes driver, engines and stalk down to rotor. You could extend the stalk through the rotor to a smaller platform with attached (swivelling?) weapon pod?

I've attempted two different methods for robes. My Big Mek has robes made from the Dark Angels Upgrade Sprue - I cut one of the robed Marines in half, then cut the robe bottom in half again, cut out the Space Marine legs and hollowed out enough so that I could fit the two halves over Ork Nob legs. I then GSed the gaps and joined to his shirt. Not too shabby, but a lot of work!

My Painboy, Meganob and Bosspole Nob were all practise attempts at GS robes. I think this is going to be the cheaper, more flexible option - as well as forcing GS skill improvements - which can only be good in the long run.

And the Biker boss needs a Jetbike for sure (Sammy), mega armored warboss Belial-ish. I can probally come up with more crossovers. I play DA btw.

I had been thinking I should do a Jetbike (Sammy) - but hadn't quite made the leap to Biker Boss (I was probably originally thinking Deffkopta - I have Deffkoptas on the brain!). Jetbike Biker Boss - I will update the list momentarily!

I was thinking Azrael for the mega armoured warboss. I know he is in power armour - but it is artificer armour. Also, I wanted to do two Grot "seekers" as wound counters - one the helmet bearer, and one dragging a large sword Belial just can't compete!

I realised what was bugging me about my diskus kopta was the fact I hadn't really thought out the connection between the outer ring and the shaft area, doh. Thanks for that.

I had thought of the robed marines but not thought about removing the legs, must have missed that bit - I should go back over your blog to check what else I missed - I'll give that a go before trying my GS-fu.
