I'm not going to build anything across the river, if that's what you mean. I was just using the trees for wood. I'll replant some if you want.

Nah, I don't give a toss about the forest biome, that's your lands. The trees you did plant in the desert though are gone though, as I use that area of sand quarrying, and I needed a lot of it earlier today.
Oh, and @thenoobbomb, that hut is bloody amazing man. =P

No problem...those trees were boredom... Only interest I have in the desert is sand for glass as long as that's not an issue with you! BTW, I've got a bunch of sheep in a corral if you need any wool. I'm trying to stockpile light gray wool for a project, so I'm trying to breed a bunch of sheep.

Mine can go up to 12 logs per piston pair though. I just thought it up on the spot there, so without yours it probably wouldn't have been thought up anyway.
I have FINALLY managed to get my computer to run minecraft with an fps higher than 15. I just needed to turn my fething graphics card on. And adjust some settings. At least it's about 150 on render distance normal now anyway. Perfect for recording. But, of course, my mic SUCKS.
When you record, if you have fraps, the program brings your fps down to a stable 30 fps. No matter how many fps you get when not recording you'll be stuck on 30 with fraps. What recording software do you use if not fraps?
If you're having problem running at high FPS I would not advise Fraps,
If your Pc is running dual or Quad core, Fraps is no good, its only designed to use single core CPU's and then takes up more space on dual or quad core CPU's
I'd try Dxtory if I were you
Tyranid Horde wrote: When you record, if you have fraps, the program brings your fps down to a stable 30 fps. No matter how many fps you get when not recording you'll be stuck on 30 with fraps. What recording software do you use if not fraps?
Fraps has settings to adjust the framerate limit, up to a max of 120fps.
Also were the two darks that close together before? I can almost see the vortex forming.
The Titan requires one operator for each leg... STOMP STOMP STOMP
In seriousness though, it's only happened because I made a backup of my profile while investigating the last griefing incident and the map generator picked up the backup as well as the original. I'll try to remember to fix it when I update the map this evening.
For those wanting to record Minecraft, there's a new mod out that allows you to record in-game. iJevin did a mod review of it, but I can't remember the name right now. It's pretty beast, though, and free, so you might want to check it out.

Blueberry Flashback Express. Has a setting which allows you to set what framerate you want to record at. Then it lowers the game's fps to that level. It frees up memory and is very efficient; it takes up the memory it saves first, and tries not to use it excessively. You can assign an entire core to it, which allows for a capture rate of, oh, I don't know, about 180 fps?
About 170 on render distance normal + 64 (I use Optifine Multi Core, which gave me a +75% fps boost) and fast graphics. I also use the clear waters option it makes for you. Even less lag. If you can call 170 fps lag
I don't want them! NO! They are nasty nasty things! Fix your game Jeb!
I don't even eat the things in real life! Why would anyone want them in minecraft??
Keep the door shut, try placing the picture on the wall next to it. Keep going until it is big enough to cover the door. Then you need to open it either with a current or from the other side. I think it works on both doors, but wood is probably the easiest to do.
Including casing to hide the wiring the wall works out to only being 4 blocks thick. Of course the design seems like it can go from bedrock all the way to the ceiling.
The wiring itself is pretty minimal.
And that pillar in the background on the left is a cheaper version for corners instead and such. Though this design doesn't need it.
I made an oil fuelled power station in Tekkit once. It had 4 turbines. I tested a single one and it produced about 512 EU per second when the combustion engine was running at green. I made a vid about it on youtube, actually. And it was mega-efficient. It kept itself fed and could be turned on and off by just 4 switches (I used a hell of a lot of wireless transmitters/receivers. About 20 per turbine, I think).
Thanks Dark, will give it a look. And for generators, the best possible one is a condenser creating coal funneled to an array of Generators. Free, risk-free, more efficient than a full-power Nuclear Plant, and more compact too. Only downside is noise.
You sure? My power plant produces nearly 2048 EU per second at maximum output. With just 4 turbines. And it is also very quiet. Near silent, actually, as it uses a lot of engines to do the work. Engines make zero noise, and refineries make next to nothing. If you want to look at the video, here's the link. I apologize in advance for the atrocious sound; I don't have a very good quality microphone.
I couldn't tell you, it wasn't calculated out because I'm lazy I linked it through an energy link and used a compressor and then stuck a max-sized quarry to the end, and the quarry was still at maximum speed.
I just spent a long time reworking the aesthetics of one of the six mountains in my new area... It's a lot more work to do that than one might think, as I was dealing with farms, water, and all four walls plus floor and ceilings in all the rooms -.-
Ah well. It's done now. Need to build to the fifth mountain soon.
I've been demolishing houses (with permission, of course) and stilling water. You know when you destroy a block around y=63 and the sea beneath it means it won't flow properly? So annoying.
Does anyone here use tekkit? does tekkit have Mo Creatures now?
Oh, and I play both technic and tekkit (less oten, though), so...
But that has NEVER happened to me before, I mean the stuck-in-3rd-person thing, so I'm guessing it's a bug
I used to use Tekkit/Technic pack. Granted it is easier to get a bunch of mods working together but it doesn't really allow for any changes. I quite like the forestry mod which is now no longer included so I pretty much have installed (probably) all the Technic mods and alot more manually and its working pretty well. I think I have 47 mods running together atm.
Does anyone have iron to trade, in quantity? I have the usual bits and pieces to offer plus a LOAD of slimeballs and redstone...
I've mostly finished building my Iron Keep but still need probably 10 stacks of iron to finish the upper levels, or around a stack and a half of iron blocks!
Well I do, but I'm after neither slime nor redstone especially.
I'm not sure I'd do the full 10 stacks, but I should be able to do a decent amount depending on what's on offer for it. Most of my interest is up to diamond and emerald though.

Yup it has mo creatures, at least im guessing that would be the one that adds skeletal and slime horses/ regular horses, werewolves, turtles, ducks, sharks, snakes, ect.
There's this one horse mob in it that I cannot find on any of the forums or Wikis- it's essentially a black, batwinged 'real' horse that's initially hostile. Spawns in underground caverns (which, by the way, are very strange for me. I somehow managed to keep my world through a couple of updates, and one apparently didn't use the same Thaumcraft stuff, so I think that, instead of getting Obelisk rooms, I just got these giant spherical chambers underground.)
They'll eat sugarlumps, so I think they can be tamed and ridden, but I don't know what they are. Also, apparently other mobs can ride the hostile horses as well.
But yeah, the Croc thing is just an f5 click or two away.
Clay soldiers mod should be in the server because then it will make the server more entertaining......and we should bet iron ingots for which army will win.

This is a quite entertaining mod for me because I never use my clay. But it can produce horrible lag.
orkdestroyer1 wrote: Do you know the IP address?
I don't think it was made yet. I almost got a spare computer I could have used as a server machine yesterday, but alas, it didn't happen...
It's an issue of cost. More than likely, when I upgrade my pc, the old one will become the server host. It'll be on 24/7, but not sure about it yet. Only a theoretical so far...
If you consider backdating it to 1.2.5... It's just the mine and blade mod is still going through rigorous redevelopment due to a hook being removed from one of the class files mine and blade requires to switch to battlemode; a mode where you can become a dual wielding monstrosity! Here's the link: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/895339-125-forge-mine-blade-battlegear/ I installed this and have NEVER REGRETTED IT SINCE! I don't want any updates: this mod makes it cool enough. That, and you can make Balkon's weapons dual wieldable too. Plus, with mo' creatures installed you can have jousting tournaments with knight armour, shields and improvised lances (spears). Throw in some sort of magic mod and then you could have a Warhammer fantasy server, maybe? Just an idea.

I just had an idea where there is a place where players fight it out in a gladiatorial arena that has mazes,Walls, pistons, traps, dungeons and arrow dispensers behind lava. And I would like to build it if it goes ahead. And the roof is a viewing platform for spectators.

Want me to make a prototype? I can do it fast with worldedit.
I've done the colloseum. Granted, it isn't very pretty, but it does the trick. Large, lots of seats (Which I've realised is completely useless, but there you go) and a fair amount of room in the centre. You can expand it up if you want more area. I left out traps etc in case anyone wanted to put their own in.
Well that Colosseum project might be what gets me back into action on the server, if you need help il be able to help out whenever im online. Allready thinkin of a few traps i could make
Why do you need redstone ore? there are things called trip wires and pressure plates for that very purpose, and tripwire is, quite frankly, harder to see than redstone ore
When I get on the server I will start building the gladitorial arena for everyone to fight it out with the other player and I was also thinking about treehouses to snipe the other player with arrows.
Cut the tree houses, people can easily back track and fire off arrows, or just chuck off a few ones before the combat. Bows I would imagine wouldn't be very fair game unless both players agreed though.
Who owns the mine at 352, 1212, in the Extreme Hills a bit north of the Manor and the Beanstalk and so on? I ended up in it by accident, but found my way out again OK.
I have two more watchtowers (smoothestone slab, and sandstone) to make, then the exterior will be mostly done (I am gonna add some oak and fences to make it look like the Spruce farm is supported-- it looks awkward when it's so square like that).
Well -- does anyone mind if I explore in, and mine from, caverns that are currently unlit, in that area? It sounds like about 3 or 4 of our mines and/or caverns meet up in that area, but nobody is actually building anything significant there yet.
I also do fancy making a small dwarven keep somewhere near the top of that Extreme Hills area, and a tunnel connecting it to the rest of my stuff, if no-one minds terribly. I didn't have a mountain in my land, so had to build one (the link Melissia posted last page) for the Iron Keep to sit on top of.
I tend to not light up much when I explore caves, but I don't really mind if our mines end up meshing together. As long as people try not to get it under my stuff because of the other half of my house being there.
Aye, that one. Would happily make it a joint project, worked on by everyone in the area, if you like - that way, either none of us will think it an eyesore, or all of us will.
And, yeah, I have no plans to mine under your stuff! Just wondered about limit cases -- the place I'm thinking of would look just like someone had wandered in ages ago, placed a few torches, half-heartedly explored, then wandered off again without giving the place another thought... except for the enderchest, which kind of suggests someone had plans for the place but didn't fulfil them.
Edit: Torches. Placed a few torches. Not tortures. Either my mind is finally going, or I secretly think I'm playing Dungeon Keeper.
Do we really need another fething gladiatorial arena? I mean far be it for I to tell you what to do with your property, but it seems like there's two things that people do after joining-- build a giant ugly cobble tower, and build a useless arena that no one ever uses.
really, we only need, and indeed ever really used the first one, on that cobble walkway from suburbia out into the desert. If you want anything other than a normal arena, you could just modify that one (raising the stands to make the top floor be available as a spleefing arena and the bottom as the normal one, for instance)
You know what would be nice? If we had a Smash Brothers arena where the purpose was to try to knock the opponent in to the arena pit, and it is dominated by one wide walkways.
THAT would be interesting, unlike most arenas which are just boring old fights.

The next update will allow us to move mobs through the Nether system! Also, entire Nether farms. With Mooshrooms, it will now be possible to survive completely in the Nether, without any outside supplies.

I guess if someone can supply me with a couple of villagers I could move some Mooshrooms into the nether for everyone. We already got them to spawn all that is really left to do is to distribute them out to people's homes.

I've always thought that any Economy in Minecraft needs to be either Barter based (pure trading, no currency), utilizing something non-perishable and uncommon as currency (like Paintings or specific colors of Wool) or using something perishable, but renewable.
Personally, I like the idea of using Bread as currency. It's useful, easy enough to get, but takes an investment of time or effort to gain in considerable quantities.
On a completely unrelated note...how would you guys feel about a spawn restoration project? As of now I feel like the spawn area has turned into something of a wasteland. There are lots of unnecessary buildings and craters that are a bit of an eyesore.
I was thinking we could either create some sort of desert themed village or just terraform the area with grass. We can hammer out specifics if enough people are interested.

Add more doors to the houses, or build new houses. I think the ratio villager:door is 1:6 or 1:7 something like that.

i offered Orkdestroyer a chance to win a diamond, which he accepted. I told him to stick everything he owned into a chest. Which he did not. He went into my vault, and he died from my security system.
I logged off for a while and when i came back, the system had been turned back on, my tripwire removed and my buckets taken from my dispensers by Ork, and he proceeded to pour water in my vault causing a block of obsidian to appear above one of my chests...
He's also knocked a tripwire hook off into the lava...

I was actually hoping to get by without letting go of my iron or diamond...I kind of need that too. I really need gold the most, enough to make 4 blocks anyway, so I'd be willing to part with some iron.
As for lapis, I'd be willing to trade just about anything else.
How about emerald? Probably unlikely, but I mentioned having some lapis spare on the previous page anyway.
I guess it depends on how much lapis you're after really. I could get by with probably emerald, gold, iron, diamond or obsidian really. Those are more or less my starting point in general though.

Sadly I don't have any emerald. I'm a bit behind the times I guess. I'll jump on later today and look at how much iron I have. It's looking like I'll have to use that.

Eh... I checked the logs. You asked him to break into the vault, but didn't specify any rules against breaking blocks or using water etc. I'm aware I have rules saying not to break others' items without their permission, but you asked him to break in... Anyway, once you'd gotten your kick out of killing him with your trap you then logged off soon after without giving him any indication that he should stop trying to break in...
When he did break in, you then start swearing at him for doing exactly as you asked.

I know you've got a problem with me Dark, but this looks unfair to me.
Quick question in regards to villages/villagers. Are they something that are automatically generated by the server, or can you create a village and the server will auto-populate it? That being said, can you lure villagers around like you can with animals and make them populate a user-created village?

Corpses, how the hell is he causing trouble, at all? Pretty sure if this was the other way round, and you complained, you would also expect something to be done about it.
It was true, Blood is hardly lying about it, and I'm sure Orkdestroyer could have used his initiative a bit, but that's not what I'm talking about.
He's hardly causing trouble, and, again, if there was something you weren't happy with, and said something about it, hardly causing anyone any trouble is it?
Nobody seemed to flag this as in issue a few pages back, but I've now marked out an area (hit tilde signs) for possible expansion to my house/fort thing. I was thinking of adding settlement/docks around he bay area, and along a road to my house through the marshes in those areas.
Whoever lives here, is this house still occupied or not? I don't think I'll be sticking anything in the immediate viewable area near it, but just to note I may be heading you direction. =P
Or I will revoke you imbeciles' privilege of having property in suburbia.
Or perhaps I should say this in a way that you can read.
DO NOT PUT TNT IN MY FETHING TOWN, ASSCLOWNS!
I think I've made myself clear Seriously guys, I dislike TNT enough as it is, nevermind when you put it inside of Suburbia, a group project where we are supposed to RESPECT other people, not destroy their stuff.
We set off a whole TWO STACKS! It was so much fun! It was totally safe anyway Mel, don't worry. Plus, the explosions were on my property with no possible flying tnt at all.

No. There is no such thing as totally safe TNT.
It is not okay. Do not fething do it again. You're not talking me down from this. If you want to do some jackass stunt or other, go somewhere other than Suburbia.
The maze is not my property and not technically a part of Suburbia, so I can't really tell you waht to do with it. I would prefer the tnt aimed somewhere else though, especially since my mansion is so close to the maze.

Villages are created according to map seeds, they are filled at creation.
If you create a village, you must transplant villagers from the nearest village, two or three will breed to make more.
No, ATM you need to get them to go into a minecart and then you push them around, a boat would probably work too.

You mean on the sever? Its set to normal by default, changing your settings to peaceful isn't going to make a difference to that. Creepers will spawn unless you place light sources, though why a chest would explode when a creeper wasn't near I have no ida. =P

Added a video of me, Sky_slasher, FM_Ninja and 4oursword playing with Sky's new TNT launcher (not in suburbia). Youtube have a selection of music you can add to videos now, so I chose one that seemed a bit apt...

You know what's weird? I've actually been having the same "exploding chest" problem in my singleplayer Technic world. I'm using the Crafting bench, and BAM! Exploded chests, with no hissing, no creepers, nothing bumping into me...
Well they would since before the update they flew about the village glitching or dying.
Can you give me the coords again blap? Since I can't seem to find it on the map, perhaps it's off the map. I remember it's in a desert though.
Looked on the map again, found it straight away, not sure how I missed it. Or perhaps dark has made the map bigger since the last time I checked (Which was yesterday)
