Plenty mroe tocome matey!
Ok I need an oppinion...again!
The army list I was going to use for this force was an allied onebut I recently picked up a copy of the Badab Wars Volume 1 and found the
Tyrants army list in there allowing a gritty combination of IG and SM units however no rough riders.
There is an SM unit in there which is essentially SM bikes which I could "counts/plays as" for my rough riders units but this would convey a 3+ save.
Now what I need an oppinion on is...
Would you as a player be happy with this if the unit was mounted on cold ones suggesting the hardened scales and agressive nature/strengths of the reptile are what give the higher
Weapon Skill, Toughness and Saving throw?
Please let em know.
Cheers guys.

Very very cool dude, made me want to do a New Zealand themed army, then I remembered the state of the NZ army... 7 soldiers, only 2 of which are full time, 3 Mosin Nagant relics between them and an old Nissan Patrol, painted camo, "looks just like a Hummer eh Sarge..."
Fail

This threat is awesome. I don’t know if this has been said before (didn’t read the whole thread) but for your HQ you should Have a Crocodile Dundee counts as Straken conversion, that would be awesome. SUBSCRIBED. And yes @ the rough rider thing.

Yes for the Cold Ones / SM bikes stand in. I bet a Cold One maw can convey as much pain as a SM fist!
Great TS Marine too, I had overlooked that thread for far too long... I'm definitely not liking the TS backpacks Hits made, but the awesomeness of the rest of the model more than makes up for it!

It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. I would be happy to play around with your rough riders as any unit you want! The best part is, by the time I have saved the money up to fly out there you should have your whole army completed!
All jokes aside.
If you make a beautiful rough rider unit any lover of the hobby is going to be happy to give you a chance to field them. If you play at a local shop you might find some one that wants to wine about it, but more often then not, you'll have more fun playing with some one a little more relaxed.

My first thought was to match the sandy look of the IG, but I am going to paint one in a charcole Grey to test that as well with the blue
on the left shoulder the chapter badge will be the astral claw star without the claws holding it.

Perentie or Varanus giganteus yeah they are huge 2.5 meters long (bout 8 1/2 feet) they have a poisonous bite (I think it's a bacteria thing) like most monitor lizards as well.
Been face to face with one of these about ten years ago.
The fist is a de-fingered lightning claw with the digits from the Dreadnaught CC arm attached.
The heavy flamer is also fromthe dreadnaught kits.

Argi is also nice.
Yeah Hits, kits are fairly aweseome.
Arakasi wrote:Counts as Lugft Huron is already looking extremely promising!
He's turned out pretty good, the only real issue is Lugft has Termi armor and he does not but that's not so bad considering he's not armed like a normal termi.
Haonn wrote:Amazing, just amazing. how long did the last on take you to model?
He took about 15 minutes to build and pose the kits are not by me but by a gifted fello byt he name of "Hits the Spot"

Komodo's are not a native beasty of Oz, although still a monitor lizard. I'm thinking about casting the rear legs of the cold ones and making the mounts a quadraped, maybe shorten them a bit.
Make them a bit more Monitor is look.

Yeah I like the name, I think the choice will come finally once I get the models in hand and they gain personality through conversion and painting.

i´d go for the deserty scheme... looks more vernerable...and worn^^ as a millenia odl fighter´s gear would probably look...
the charcoal one looks a bit bland to me...
the car looks nice^^
as for the monitor lizzards... will you make longer necks too for them? that would look cool, the idea reminds me strongly of the star wars dewbacks....tho they of course missed the long necks...
