Excellent stuff, that's so close to finished it probabaly would be by the time I've finished typing this...if it wasn't for Scottish winter late night spraying conditions being slightly dubious.

Out of interest, anyone played with mixing powders with varnish yet? I keep meaning to, but never seem to actually do it, have to remember to try it on some of the terrain.

I did discover that a very heavy coat of powder turns to rust coloured paint when sprayed with varnish, but that was a slightly heavier spray than I'd intended.

Great work!

As for the weathering powders: aplying the varnish by hand creates smears if you go into recesses where there was a lot of powder, resulting in frenzied and panicked wiping stuff off with a clean brush - if you're anything like me .

Thanks guys!

Applying the gloss varnish by hand did smear the powders a little - though I minimised it by mostly dabbing it on rather than brushing across.

Anyway - a new page requires all new pics! We are now just awaiting suitable weather conditions to spraying (oh, and sleep) - ie only the Purity Seal left to go. If they are a bit "shiny" its the gloss varnish (nice and protected!). I'll be taking a hairdryer out with me when I spray them - drying them straight away should eradicate any chance of frosting... Oh - and these were "quick snaps" - I'll do some proper photos/groups shots etc once the Purity Seal is on/I've removed them from the paint pots/weather permitting

I don't know!

So your 25th guy has faults in too! I'm liking the trukks, I'm currently converting one myself, into a battleagon! You can see this on my blog, (link in signutre).

I really egret not picking one of them up...looked like a good mini, but I'm trying to save money at present, and £20 for one figure didn't fit with that system. Still, it did look nice.

@Gitsplitta, SelvaggioSaky: Glad to oblige!

@LostSoulCasey'sLaw: Or possibly "Petrified Snotling". First, dress your snotling in Angels wings. Second, pour hot liquid metal over the top. Three, wait for lack of movement, screams and/or cool to the touch. Four, attach to hood or bonnet! Five, profit!

@HAZZER: Mainly the base, but yes. I know you are currently converting a Trukk into a Battlewagon - I even commented previously about the sides looking like doors left open

@Imperial Monkey: Would have been nice for your Crimson Fists, but yes, a bit pricy - it's why I didn't get two...

Right, with that out of the way, today's progress! Spent all of today on the gunners. Here you can see a Big Shoota (rear) and Rokkit Launcha (front) in progress:

Here are the pieces individually - finished and pinned/magnetised for weapon swappage:

Not sure now what I was thinking of doing for my other three Trukks (they have one piece Big Shootas). I don't have enough gunner bodies to do three Rokkit based gunners for them. I *think* I was planning to make three Rokkit gunners for them from Boyz, but if you have ever seen the gunner bodies, they are a bit weedy/narrow by Ork standards in order to fit in the Trukk cupola... I'll have to see what I can do tomorrow...

Meanwhile - I thought I'd put the two Trukks together as far as possible for the final pics - as you can see, the Twin Trukk is *almost* as far along as the GMS Swap Trukk First with Big Shootas:

And with Rokkits:

Hmmm... just got logged out and lost my post - here's my second try...

@Bangbangboom, Goresaw, Awesomesauce: Thanks guys! Posting full pics of the Trukks always seems to elicit a response - even though we still have a long way to go....

@Artsoldier35: Not sure it will help my current predicament. The full boyz bodies' legs are way too wide, the cupola ones don't have legs! Thanks for the offer though... (and no doubt I could find a use for them in a future project )

@sluggaslugga: Haha! That would be an awesome project though. Perhaps for Matt Kingsley's Ork Vehicle Building Competition next year...

@HAZZER: No probs and thanks. Continue to loot my fickle readers!

Right, so tonight began the quest to create three Rokkit Launcha boyz for my original three Trukks. This looks promising...

And... not so much:

So I went looking through my bits and sprues for likely candidates. Had to dismiss Black Orcs (too wide) and Boarboyz (too wide, wrong stance). Did however come across these possibilities:

Left to right we have a Stormboy, Empire General on foot (Greatswords were too weedy), the Trukk Big Shoota body we are trying to replace and some normal Boy bitz. I have cut the wrongly angled feet off the Stormboy and filed down the legs so that he fits in the cupola. I think I can replace the Empire General torso with an Ork torso, and his boots with some Ork boots (see previous photograph - we recycle!) to get the right effect...We are going to try our hand at some bionics for the third Rokkit Boy's lower half

Should be interesting if nothing else...

Worst case I guess I can just buy some more Big Shoota bodies off of a bitz site...

Catchya!
