I have yet to get an email from them.
I ordered mine the same day it went on sale, and I get an email at 2030 saying its been delayed. I'm sorry but that is pretty crap service...

They must have known at least a week ago that they weren't shipping on time. To not say anything until 9:30 on the night of release is really shoddy.
They are not selling themselves well. Now I'm sure a few apoplogists will mention that the delays were probably caused by their suppliers, but they are supposed to project manage this and have a responsilbity to keep their customers (who all paid in advance) informed.
Unhappy and unimpressed.

Maybe someone at GW realised they hadn't charged the film company enough for the rights and instigated a pricehike...production costs, metal prices. You know, their usual justifications!

I don't mind waiting a little longer if there are problems these things happen.
It's the fact that the money has already left my bank account that is annoying.
They should not take the money until its been the items in the post.
I paid ages ago it should be in my account earning 0.1 pence interest
It's just the principle of the thing if you know what I mean

We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.

I'm quite amazed how annoyed people can get at the fact it might take you an extra week to get something that we've been waiting for for since the day we all started the hobby. Codex wont be doing it on purpous to piss people off, so they are obviously doing everything they can to get it shipped.

Wouldnt of matter to much, Im in the US and flying all that way was unlikely but not impossible. Sigh...heavy sigh.

Can you link your source that it's only going to be delayed by a "a few days" or "an extra week"? I'd like to read it too, as they are relevant to the topic. Unless that was a press release from the Department Of Stuff I Made Up?
BrookM wrote:I am more amused by the idiotic remarks that the release date translates somehow into the day that they are magically supposed to have the movie in their hands.
I'd find them amusing too, if anyone actually made a comment remotely like that, which of course no one did; the closest one to that was someone who posted that they hoped to have the movie by December 10th. I'd say expecting a product delivered within 11 days is pretty reasonable, myself.

Okay Ouze bring it down a notch please. The comment remains relevant regardless of an official release date or not. We've waited this long for a movie, a "few days" longer (depending on how you want to speculate or complain about how long a "few days" is) is not the end of the world. Without knowing the exact reason for the delay, it doesnt do any good for us to complain about Codex Pictures not releasing the movie on the release date, nor does it do us any good to blast GW for it either (though Im sure they did, to drive up Space Marine sales.)

Father Gabe wrote:Okay Ouze bring it down a notch please.
First, he doesn't look as upset as I'd be, so I don't think he needs to bring anything down.
Second, if he were pissed off he'd have every right to be. He pre-ordered this overpriced amateur film under the assumption that it would be shipped out on a certain date, and they waited until the last second to let all their customers know that their might be a delay. That is shoddy, even if the movie comes out in "a few days" you can't justify that.
But everyone's sure as hell going to try.

Okay I should point out it wasnt Codex that dropped the ball, nor was it the manufacturers who copied/packaged the product. Its the distribution company that dropped the ball here, we should direct comments to their inability to do their job succesfully.

I didn't skip gak, I read the whole first page. I just don't agree with the notion that Codex is free from all blame. Yeah, obviously that means I can't read.
As it's been pointed out, they could have avoided any major disappointment by simply taking everyone's pre-order money on the actual day of shipment. Or is that the distributor's fault too?

The only thing I feel is to blame is that they did not notify the buyers until the supposed day of release. The notification was up last Friday, at least for a short while, but was taken off again.
You can always contact your credit card company and have them withdraw the money if this brings you so much grief.

I did you one better: I didn't even buy the damn thing.
I wasn't about to throw down $40, up-front, for the quality that I'd seen from those sneak-peaks. I'm still waiting on a normal release, couldn't care less about $20 extra in useless "collector's" crap.
So why bother posting? Because I know how I'd feel if I did pony up $40 and woke up to that e-mail. Yeah, I've spent more on less, but it's principle. Like I said, you don't do that, and I think people deserve a little more than an "Oh I'm so sorry".
If nothing else they should throw a little extra in when the orders do ship. I don't know what, could be a sticker for all I care, but still.

We have no idea how long it's going to be delayed for, because they haven't said anything yet. Your "few days" is a pure guess from the ether, and you didn't frame it as such. As far as I know, my order shipped yesterday, since I still haven't gotten anything from them to the contrary.
If you want to reflexively white knight for Codex, such is your right, but lets not pretend the people who are upset at a delay this late in the game are being unreasonable. A 2 week delay announced now means the difference between a Christmas gift arriving in time or not, and when the preorders have been open for months, at this juncture it's kind of inexcusable.

Yes, it is so nerd-rage. Ridiculously late would have been to notified about a delayed release a week or two after the date. I'm rather certain that the announcement was made once it was absolutely certain that the discs weren't going out at all on Monday. I wouldn't be surprised to learn more about the cause of the delay in next 48 hours.
So please folks, get your panties out of the serious twist that they're in. We'll get our movies as soon as Codex can ship them out. Why do you all immediately assume evil or incompetence?

If I told a customer a website or graphic they had paid me to make (what I do for a living) was going to be late four hours before that date was over I wouldn't be in a job right now.

Exactly.
The nerdrage by some in this thread is quite pathetic. For all you know the current bad weather in the UK unexpectedly interrupted part of the production process. Maybe there was a fire. Maybe someone died, who knows. Nobody even knows the exact reason of the delay, and yet assumptions are made and judgment is being passed. So you'll get your fething movie a bit later. Shyt happens. Deal with it.
