Let me put this in the words of my newest favourite TV character:
FANTASTIC!
That has to be the most hilarious Ork model I've seen all year. An Grot SAG that fires Orks. Give this man a medal.

Gitsplitta: Sorry to hear that. Ah well, at least it gives you the opportunity to build a better one, so it's not all bad
Llamahead: That's actually a nice idea, but hard to build on a 40mm base . With the little tank, I can just shove a 40mm base underneath and he's legal.
Anung Un Rama: Thank you
monkeytroll: Now all I need to do is paint 9 more for a finsihed unit .(laughs while sanity slips away)
Anvildude: but then nobody could read the funny insults . And fluff wise, they'll probably come into contact with human writing rather then ork writing.
Speaking of fluff: here's a new bit!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The hunting parties had been forced to push further and further into the tunnels since they had begun their raids. Some of the resources they stole were being replaced, but they didn’t want to draw too much attention to the tunnel entrance, and certain resources were moved to different areas. This meant they had to explore further and further in the facility, trying to keep the increasing numbers of extinctor-servitors off their backs.
The Adeptus Mechanicus’ response to the infestation was similar to the way the Imperium responded when under attack: local servitors responded first, and each time the threat turned out to be bigger then what the present servitors could handle, the system ‘escalated’ to include additional servitors, simultaneously increasing group size. Soon, the system would have to alert the Adeptus Mechanicus and skittarii deployment would be considered. The security system’s losses were still within its task parameters, but they wouldn’t be for long. The grots themselves had been very stealthy, leaving little to no trace, going as far as taking the remains of the extinctor-servitors with them so they wouldn’t be found. But the losses they inflicted were being registered. It was only a matter of time before the matter of the increasing vermin problem would be brought to the attention of a clerk. Still, none of this was known to the gretchin, who had simply attributed the increasing opposition to the common sense of The Enemy.
Scrazza’s team had been exploring the lower levels of the facility extensively, finding an entrance into the ventilation system, crawling through spaces far too small for humans or orks, or indeed any of the other races studied in the Magos Biologis facility that were designated as dangerous. The grots all had good stealth skills, something bred into them through generations of abuse by their larger cousins, and their new-won freedom hadn’t done anything to breed this trait out of them. The hostile environment of the caves (and the facility) was unkind to a stray grot wandering off on his own. Most of the cave dwellers were very aggressive, due to the squig infestation: any cave creature that wasn’t able to indimidate a squig hound had long since been devoured by the voracious packs stalking the tunnels.
As the grots had been moving deeper into the facility through the vents, they found many parts were blocked, even the smaller vents having automated defence systems too dangerous to even consider crossing. Using the vents did allow them to avoid the control servitors in the corridors though, who registered heat and immediately demanded identification to anyone coming nearby.
The parts they did have access to were mainly storage areas, but this suited the grots fine. They had found supplies, tools, and even the occasional weapon. Thanks to the raider’s discoveries, the weaponry of the grots had come leaps and bounds since the makeshift spears with which they had entered the tunnels. And now, Scrazza could feel they were onto something big. They had found a room that was guarded by two weaponized servitors, and when the doors had opened, they had seen big crates being wheeled in, the Enemies talking excitedly about fractal math capability and increased protection. Scrazza had no idea what ‘fraktal mad kapabilitiez” were, but they had to be important! Scrazza figured they were going to need something big soon anyway, since The Enemy would eventually find a way to stop their raids; they had already become much harder due to the increased patrols. Instinctively, he knew that the gains had to become bigger as well if they wanted their forays into the facility to be worth it.
The grots had been studying the patterns of the servitors and the Enemiez, and they had concluded that the perfect time to strike was when the Enemiez were just entering the storage room while returning the crates. At that point, the servitors were distracted by all the movement around them in the generally empty hallway, and Scrazza figured the Enemiez wouldn’t be missed till after they had run off with the crates. The fact that they would have to kill all the Enemiez in sight was more an added bonus then a problem. [Scrazza knew they were barely armed, and they were always so engrossed talking about what was inside the crates that they barely registered their surroundings. ]
Scrazza and Gitskog were carefully judging their moment, awaiting the right time to launch their assault. The grot hunters had carefully worked themselves into their respective positions with admirable discipline, but now the tension was becoming too much for them. Scrazza could see a head peeking out here and there, and heard the occasional suppressed cackle. Luckily, the approaching Enemy were too concerned with their cargo and too busy discussing fractal calculations and hypertensic light conduction to notice.
The entry procedure was the same as ever: one of the Enemiez gave a command to the servitor, they both stepped aside, the door was opened with a badge, and the scientists entered.
As soon as the servitors had turned their backs to the hallway to keep observing the scientists, the grots sprung their ambush. The gretchin hunting packs had picked up a few tricks with the extinctor-servitors: they quickly appeared and disappeared, confusing the targeting patterns of the servitors who were still checking for an IFF-signal when the first shots rang out. Gitskog’s shot clipped the right servitor in the shoulder, but Scrazza’s aim was true: the shot from his captured shotgun hit the servitor full in the chest, punching through the chestplate and throwing the servitor against one of the scientists, who started panicking and fleeing blindly into the storage room as the soon as the first shot rang out. Scrazza knew better then to go after them though; the second servitor had survived the first volley and was returning fire, indiscriminately raking crates, the hallway, and poor Tiqrit, who jerked wildly as he was hit by lasbolt after lasbolt, the red hot lances of light going straight through the scrawny greenskin. Tiqrit’s death didn’t save the servitor though as a speargun almost took his head straight off, causing the gun arm to go limp as it slumped against the doorway. As the alarm started to ring out, the grots mercilessly slaughtered the scientists and retreated, taking the smoking remains of Tiqrit – and the boxes that the Enemies had been so excited about.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't bene very active, but a combination of illness and the winter have kept me from the hobby a lot :(.
Gathering Storm: Glad you like it since you've been waiting for so long, and I agree: I think I'll make a post in the background section and put everything together.
Gitsplitta: you're welcome!
Rose_Mountainz: Thanks!
Commissar Agro: Thank you!
grotsrus:something like that, yes
Anyway, in between lot sof snow, being ill and alot of job stuff, I got one more killa kan finished, meaning my firs tunit of three is finished. Yay! Unfortunately, the camera died on me after a single measly pic :(. Since natural light isn't around when I'm home (I leave when it's still dark and I get home when it's dark - gotta love the winter...), it was taken with flash. I'll try and post more and better pics tomorrow. I'm glad I got this one finished though - only three more to go

Looks great CK, love the slogans and the work on the tusks. I also like the base... really neat the way you've got the ground level flocking with occasional tufts of grass sticking up.
Take care of yourself, I'm just starting to shake something that's had me down for 2 weeks, you don't want to get stuck being ill over the holidays.

Gitsplitta: Thanks glad you like the kan . I use the two GW brands of flock for the bases, since I wanted the bases to look decent and very cohesive throughout the army. As for being ill: I got through it with a week's rest, but I really needed that week, it's been a while since I was this sick - ah well, the blessings of father N?urgle I guess You take care as well!
MajorTom11: scroll down
Rose_Mountainz: Yup, having a full unit painted is nice indeed . As for the vision slit: I think it's going to stay black, wouldn't know what else to do with it... I've considered OSL, but I don't feel like messing up the paintjob...
monkeytroll: orange FTW! .
Arakasi: Thanks! Always means a lot coming from an orange-hater
Anyway, some more piccies!
First off, some more pics of the last kan, and to finish off a group shot of everything I've got assembled. The group shot is a tad blurry as always, best I can do :(
Enjoy, and let me know what you think!

Joske De Veteraan: Thanks! Good to see you join dakka!
Arakasi: Guess you really want me to turn the SAG ork into a dark angel? As for the army: I still feel it' smoving along slowly; I've got a tourney in Febryary, and I'm debating painting my grots up for then, but I feel it might be hard to get everything done by then... And: in the end you'll be glad you started on some basic stuff as well
To make you feel a bit better, here's where the army stands, baseed on my 1750 points list:
HQ:
Warboss: done
Big Mek: done
ELITES:
10 Burnagrots: 1/10 painted
2x 5 Lootas: I've got a bunch ready, but I'm goign to redo some. 5/10 built, 0 painted
TROOPS
29 grots, 2 kommissarz: done
19 grots, 1 kommisar: kommissar done,5 grots painted
19 grots, 1 kommisar: kommissar done,0 grots painted
5 megagrotz + battlewagon: megagrotz done, battlewagon 95% finished (crew and deffrolla to do)
FAST ATTACK
2x deffkopta with buzzswa: 1 50% done, 1 still black
3x buggies/wartrakks: 1 done, 1 busy, and I need to buiild an additional buggy
HEAVY SUPPORT:
Battlewagon: done
3 killa kans: done
3 killa kans: 1 WIP, 2 undercoated.
As you can see, still alot to do :(
monkeytroll: that's alot of pages to go through, but feel free and I hope you enjoy it. Mastablasta is on p.2 IIRC
Commissar Agro: that's more or less the point Glad you like him!
Anywayz, I need your opinion on a head. I bought the micro-art metal goblin heads (which are great btw), but they look a tad large. In the meantime, you get to see some new grots .
So, yay or nay on the head?

With the side shot showing the open mouth I think it'll be fine. As you say it'll look much better when painted, I always find a mix of metal and plastic makes it a little harder to judge if components are really mis-matched, the differing colour/texture makes any difference more pronounced.

I really want to see a Terminator based army fight these guys some day. I can see the final moments now. The last Veteran in tactical dreadnought armor slipping on a pile of bolter shells and mutilated green paste, never to stand back up, as tiny cackling green men rush in to find any chink in his armor week enough for a rusty pick axe to finish the job.
