Can reasonably say that it will be for the Imperial Strongpoint, which just went up for order.
Comprising a power generator, two reinforced defensive positions, dragons-teeth tank traps and huge, armoured blast doors dug into a central hill, the Imperial Strongpoint Expansion tile is a fortified stronghold that will make a great feature for your armies to fight over in games of Warhammer 40,000.
Perfect for representing critical objectives such as a command and control facility, or a fortified artillery pit, the Imperial Strongpoint can be used in games of Planetstrike as a unique Bastion or to represent a huge variety of stratagems, strategic assets and other rules in Battle Missions. It is also a great addition to Apocalypse games and other Warhammer 40,000 battles.
This tile is the first in a wide range of planned Expansion tiles designed for use with the Citadel Realm of Battle Gameboard.
70 GBP, which is odd since the price they originally quoted was they were aiming at a 60 GBP pricepoint.

Very nice. Kinda pricy, but I still want one.
I would image the manufacturing was problematic, so more resin has had to be used on it (or something).
Now to try and work out a display cabinet that used these boards as the shelves...

Forge World Newsletter 280
Hi there,
This week’s newsletter sees the release of the first in an exciting new range of scenery from Forge World. Originally unveiled at the Forge World Open Day back in April, the Imperial Strongpoint Expansion Tile is now available to order.
Forge World Imperial Strongpoint
Comprising a power generator, two reinforced defensive positions, dragons-teeth tank traps and huge, armoured blast doors dug into a central hill, the Imperial Strongpoint Expansion is a fortified stronghold that will make a great feature for your armies to fight over in games of Warhammer 40,000, and is fully compatable with the Citadel Realm of Battle Board available from Games Workshop.
Perfect for representing critical objectives such as a command and control facility, or a fortified artillery pit, the Imperial Strongpoint can be used in games of Planetstrike as a unique Bastion or to represent a huge variety of stratagems, strategic assets and other rules in Battle Missions. It is also a great addition to Apocalypse games and other Warhammer 40,000 battles, plus it can be used as part of a Games Day Armies on Parade competition entry.
The Imperial Strongpoint, designed by Stuart Williamson, is cast from a hollow resin as durable and sturdy as the plastic Realm of Battle Gameboard tiles from the main Games Workshop range, and is available to order now for immediate despatch.
This tile is the first in a wide range of planned Expansion tiles designed for use with the Citadel Realm of Battle Gameboard that Forge World will be releasing over the coming months, and as always we’ll be bringing you more information in future newsletters.
Forge World Events News – Games Day Germany
Warhammer Forge sculptors Steve Whitehead and Keith Robertson, as well as graphic artist Sam Lamont, are soon to embark on their journey to Cologne for Games Day Germany on August 7th, alongside the rest of the intrepid Forge World team. We’ll have limited numbers of the Imperial Strongpoint Realm of Battle Expansion Tile available to purchase on the day, alongside our MkIII Armoured Boarding Space Marine and Chaos Dwarf Hellsmith Event Only miniatures as well. We look forward to seeing you there!
We are excited to announce that several other new Forge World and Warhammer Forge kits will be exclusively on sale at Games Day Germany. First revealed at Games Day Chicago on 30th July, the Exalted Vermin Lord, designed by Mark Bedford, and Skaven Brood Horror, designed by Trish Carden and Steve Whitehead, will both be available in limited numbers from the Sales stand.
Joining these detailed resin kits are three new Contemptor Pattern Dreadnought weapons, designed by Will Hayes. The Contemptor Plasma Cannon, Heavy Bolter, and Kheres Pattern Assault Cannon will all be available in limited numbers, in advance of their general release.
If you placed a reservation order with the GW Germany Customer Service team, you will receive an e-mail over the course of this week containing your order number and a confirmation of the total price you will need to pay when you pick up your order at the event. You must bring a copy of this e-mail with you to claim your order.
Thanks,
Ead Brown

Yeah, it's also looks about 34 times better than the vanilla RoB tiles. The first pic is really cruelly revealing.
I wish they posted some unpainted pics so that we could see how sharp the detail is.

So I take it this is the logic behind them dumping most or all of their 40K terrain? They'll just do RoB board additions from now on...thereby also encouraging sales of the GW RoB board?

Forge World has hired a "scenery designer" now, whose current job is going through and seeing what molds can be remastered or which ones are trashed beyond usage. Many of the terrain they "dumped" had that happen, where the molds need some TLC or just need to be redone entirely.
It won't be an overnight process, but they are planning more standalone terrain. They want each book, however, to get one of these RoB tiles which will have special rules presented within the book for campaign play.

Thirty four times?
Is that an exact figure? : )
Fair enough. It's a lot nicer than the standard RoB tiles (except for the near unforgivable lack of overt skulls). No argument from me there.
I still hesitate to think it's worth $115, though.
Now, if it was $70 USD, instead of 70GBP, I'd find it to be more worth the cost.

On the one hand I really, really want one of those tiles, especially now that I know it will perfectly fit into the other hills of the RoB set.
On the other side of the debate is FW's less than stellar casting quality. I'd hate being stuck with a tile that's bent or short and doesn't line up perfectly with the RoB tiles.

I went and dug up the quote off their Facebook page.
July 31st:

I have all intentions of grabbing one of these my next forgeworld order.
The simple fact is, all we play is Planetstrike & Cities of Death (Sometimes a strange mix of both).
I own a Realm of Battle table, 2 Imperial City sets, 2 Strongpoint Box Sets, Fortress of Redemption, Skyshield etc...
Why even waste time making the terrain when GW does such a good job making it for you. Forgeworld does everything GW does better, so you know this will be an amazing tile.

Here some info from the Forgeworld Games Day thread, first some info about these ROB tiles being the future road for FW terrain, the second on the quality of these boards, a.o. the board being too short because of shrinking resin:
Spazz wrote:So i dont know if this is news to all you dakka folks but i was talking to the guys at the forge world booth at games day. And i asked why so many of the terrain peices on the site were out of stock as of last week.
He said that most are being discontinued to make room for a new line of terrain. He said that the a new line will be themed to match scenarios in the imperial armour books and the new WFB books. And that there wil be small (2X2?) boards that will fit in to the GW realm of battle boards. I dont have a realm of battle board but im pretty excited to see what FW can come up with.
Here is a thread:
http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=308624
old guard wrote:I was one of the lucky few who picked up one of the forgeworld Realm of Battle board pieces at the Forgeworld open day. I've finally got round to painting it to blend in with my other boards including a couple of trench ones
(...)
for those that havent seen the FW board in the buff so to speak here it is
Its a similar resin to what they use on boats or car panels I think
Does anyone know if that extension board will come available for sale on the FW site some time?
well there is a discussion to that effect in rumours.
it is in the 2011 catalogue, with a 'later in the year' caption.
From the FW open day, talking with the bloke that created it and with Tony Cottrel, this is the way FW see terrain going ( you may have noticed that they are discontinuing lots of the terrain at the mo), it was suggested that the future depended on how well it sold at the open day ( and they did seem to go well). However there is a slight problem that you may not have picked up from the photos. It is about 2 to 3mm too short along 2 faces. This was the case on both the boards I handled (painted one for Digits Dave who also frequents these parts) Not sure why, I suspect shrinkage. I have no evidence for this but I think that this may be the reason why it has not been seen yet.
Problem was resolved easely enough, by gluing 3mmMDF to 2 of the sides.
hopefully, if I am right...and its a big if!, we will start to see this one and others soon...but not too soon as I am llikely to want to buy them! there was suggestion made of the trench system (which again is no longer available) appearing in this format. though I guess that might have to be a multiple board set to do it justice. Heres hoping!
(...)
I may fill it with expanding foam on the basis that unlike the plactic ROB boards there isnt the reinforcing underneath, but it certainly not a case of treating it like mother/wife's best china. wouldnt want to drop it from any considerable height though.
