@feet of claw: Will do!

@Eckeon: It feels like... plastic?

@Imperial Monkey: For you maybe

@fleet of claw: Remove too many and I don't have any left! Thankfully, that seems to occur on rare occasions... (Triple Skorchas after having one's Trukk exploded for example. Who arms their Kans with Skorchas???)

Right, so skin is complete. Did a much better job on the second batch - didn't feel the need to touch up with Thraka Green. Collected all the red together - well - all the untouched red - and added the first highlight. Again - hard to see in the pic - but I'm not taking individual photos of all of them at this point! You'll just have to trust me that it is already making a difference...

And that's me for painting/modelling updates for a week - next week - Orlando! I'll probably endeavour to get Imperial Monkey's battle report up (with Imperial Monkey's able assistance) and my Platinum Devil 3 mini reports during downtime at airports, evenings etc. Then I have one last week of paint before Partick Crucible 2. I was looking through the Partick Crucible photos - my army will look a *lot* better this time round

Catchya!

Hmmm, such a long process, but it will be so worth it

Hopefully next time we get around to having a game, we can have two almost fully painted armies I think that will be a first in our entire gaming history (Blood bowl doesn't count).

Looking forward to seeing more progress on Ghazzy and the mega nobz.

Right - safely back from Orlando and more holidays!

Still concentrating on the painting before Partick Crucible 2 this weekend - ash clouds pending...

Pre-Orlando - First Red Highlight (1:1 Blazing Orange/Mechrite Red + Gloss Varnish)

I can only be bothered showing one up close at a time now. You can make out more detail, and it will make my catchup posts easier!

Post-Orlando - Second Red Highlight (Blazing Orange + Gloss Varnish)

17 "miniatures", 23 "parts" - I am *so* going to look forward to returning to modelling next week... Anyway - in case you were interested, the current plan is:
1) Paint for Partick Crucible 2 this weekend.
2) Partick Crucible 2
3) Finish painting Gitsplitta's GMS trade (though I'm really trying to bring da boyz up to the same level so I can do all the fiddly bits together...)
4) Finish modelling Artsoldier35's GMS trade and twin (so I can get onto the painting and buy my airbrush!)
5) Warhammer World with endtransmission (July)

Somewhere in there, probably at airports, I need to:
1) Finish Battle Report against Imperial Monkey and PM it to him to update/comment/improve etc
2) Finish Mini Batreps for Platinum Devil 3
3) Write up Partick Crucible 2
4) Write up Battle Reports vs endtransmission at Warhammer World in July
5) Page 60 mini update post

And now - correspondence catchup!

It will indeed. I think it will, and it will be *so* worth it. Then we just need to work on terrain... I'm am currently saving Ghazzy and the Meganobz for when I need "inspiration"...

excellent paint job from what I've seen so far =] though using that red and green kinda makes me think these orks are in the middle of christmas festivities, and their leader from the first pic kinda resembles santa with an upside-down (?) beard, what with the helmet being a white =P also, great emphasis on the arm muscles.

i like the color scheme though, don't get me wrong =D
well done, can't wait to see more!

"Sir, we're completely surrounded!!!" ======= "Excellent, now we can shoot in any direction."

It's not a question as to where my motivation comes from, but rather how it manages to survive.

Ah - the step that makes things start to take shape - 1:2:1 Blazing Orange/Vomit Brown/Gloss Varnish - edge highlights. The Diversified Nobz Mob Banner Pole Bearer:

@Santobell: Just the same old same old Yeah - I'm happy with all the progress except the speed! I think I mentioned before it was already a large step up on my previous Partick Crucible - but now it is slowly moving towards a step up from our game! Da Boss's current eta (for you to see them in person again) - April 2012 (but I wouldn't go planning around that - I'm not...)

@ComradePanda: Thanks! Too much green for a Christmas-y vibe and not enough red for a Santa wannabe - hopefully!

Last "red highlight before Partick Crucible 2 - 2:1 Vomit Brown/Gloss Varnish - highlighting edge/corners. Who should I photograph tonight?

Next stage (next week?) is the Asurmen Blue shading... though with Partick Crucible 2 over, I *might* have to give paint a break (for a day) and work on Artsoldier35's Trukk/twin...

Thanks for looking!

Still on the painting bug while it lasts... only got half way through the blue shading (2:1 Asurman Blue Wash/Gloss Varnish), so maybe not much longer

Some of my previously pictured models look even better... (IMHO!)

@moonshine: Glad you enjoyed. Yeah, they don't like the IG. When I finally (soon!) get my Platinum Devil 3 report up, the IG get their own back

Your stuff is looking brilliant as usuall. Why is that mega armoured nob yellow ? I think a bone coloured mega nob will look great but at this rate the great crusade would have launched before we see one finished.

It's your eyesight? My camera? Bad lighting? Seriously though - it's his Iyanden Darksun basecoat - which is waiting to be highlighted/shaded to proper Deffwing bone colour - as is the third Trukk (haven't photographed that in a while...)

But yes - it's slow going. I'm still telling myself I want to do the best with each model. It takes longer now - but I get to enjoy it forever! That's the plan anyway...

More progress - last of the blue shading (2:1 Asurmen Blue Wash/Gloss Varnish)

Trukk!

That's four separate pieces (Engine, Gunner, 2 x Exhausts/RPJ)

Admittedly, while progress *seems* slow - I am working my way through a lot of miniatures (only providing a couple of photos per batch) - so, pretty quick for me... Who knows - I may finish my 1000pt army this year!

@slice'n'dice: Thanks! Looking forward to seeing your Nidz in person again too! Battle reports coming soon...

All progressing nicely here. Trukk looks like it'll be eye-catching when complete.

I don't see anything wrong with the speed of progress. It seems like a perfectly acceptable work rate to me

Although if you're doing the bone on the trukk at the same time as the nobz, I reckon that'll feel like it's dragging. Another colour for you to nuture and love

@Gitsplitta: Or your GMS Stormboy Nob...

@monkeytroll: The question is whether I'll leave the bone on the Trukk and Meganob until after I've completed the new Meganobz or not... Not that the green on the other two Trukks is going to feel any less dragging...
