Thanks a bunch!

"I.. I know my time has come" Tethesis said with a gasp, a torrent of blood flowing from his lips.
"No! Hang on brother!!" Altharius could feel the warmth slip away from his dear sibling's hands

Tethesis's reached out his bloodied arm to Altharius's face.
"I..I have one final request"
Altharius leaned close to listen, tears welling in his once bright eyes.
"make sure th..they put my soulstone in a tank... it'll be... real fethin' cool"
"Yes, you're gonna be the most fethin' cool tank!!" burning hot tears streaked down Altharius's face, as he held his brother's soul in his grasp.

I think I've finished the plasticard detail work in the cab. I might add something over the windshield, but I'm not sure. Then there's wiring and tools and scrap for the shelves and floor. I don't think I'll add armour plating for a while, we'll see.

Anyhow, some pics >

This is a shot of all the detail work, more or less.

A grot working on the stick shift. Ah- something else I have to finish. I'm waiting to do this until I've got the driver in. So I can figure out where the stick should end.

Here's the rear of the cab, now with surround sound! Please notice the CB radio.

And here's a view of the cockpit. Above the wind shield looks too bare to me, but I can't think of what to put up there. Any suggestions?

Thanks for checking it out. All comments and criticism are welcome.

how about the obligatory easy to reach shotgun, or some jump leads/winch cable/useful tools?

i'm liking the plasticard work going on here - very nice project!

how about an open cabinet full of beer (I say a cabinet because Orks likely wouldn't care if it were warm)

He could have some "Orkanee" (Kokanee), Mork Genuine Draft (Guess ) Grotweiser (ditto), Gorknness (Guinness), and whatever other Orky ripoffs of beer brands you can come up with

The shotgun is definitely in. Died center over the wind shield. I like the jump cables, but I'm not sure I can pull it off. I'll give it a try. Tools are already planned. The shotgun is going to be fun to make.

I like the fuzzy dice, but there's no rear window for a rear view mirror to see through. I have been thinking about a driver-side mirror. I'll see how the dice look hanging off the side, could be funny.

Fungus beer it is. I think there's just enough room for a cabinet by the door, behind the drivers seat. Which gives me an idea: automated "Beer me" arm for the driver, reaching over his back.

There'll be ammo boxes and tool boxes and pipe stashes and other personal touches. I'm thinking about a hook or two to hang... I guess the jumper cables and similar, maybe a fuel backpack. Some power sells here and there. I think winch cables will be on the back of the cab (the outside).

have you thought about printing/freehanding a tiny motivational/playboy (well it would be play-orc according to the old fluff) poster on transfer paper?

might be a bit small though...

Yeah, after the CommissarKhaine mentioned the play-orc. But I think a portrait of Gork and Mork, or Gorkamorka would fit better for the meks. Gorkamorka, because I'm toying with the meks backstory so that he is from Gorkamorka. It won't play too heavily into the models, more of a subtle accent. It adds a little to the background.
Also, Play-orc doesn't really make sense to me. THey reproduce through spores, like fungus. Even in the original fluff, all orks developed a marsupial like pouch to produce offspring. This is after they go feral, and they don't seem to require a mate.
So what would ork porn look like? A big fight? Lots of fungus? Human porn, for the truly depraved ork, maybe?

I wouldn't do it on transfer paper at any rate. Usually the edges of the sheet are so visible, it ruins the effect for me. I'm also thinking Da Boss would be shouting at them through the surround sound speakers. That's all they need as far as motivation, but a good battle poster would be fun too, for those long hauls.

I got some painting done on the dynamic duo:

Still very wip. I need to do all of the detail work still and some major spots as well. Most notable: Roborks loin cloth.

Batorks trophies:

I'm thinking of painting a red hand print on the skull so I can use them as Snake Bite kommandos if I want. New recruits from the locals, or a stolen trophy, taken from the red skull kommandos and flaunted in their face.

Anyhow, here's a shot of the trukk cab. I built a CB for the drive and a shelf for the shotgun. Still need to do the wiring, but I'm waiting to the last second to do that part.

And here's the beer cabinet:

I need to pick up some larger styrene pipes to make the beer.

All that's left is tools and litter, and the wiring and it's ready for paint... I think. Oh! A side view mirror. Hm... I'm gonna say, same as the beer. I need to get more plastic.

Hope you enjoy and let me know what you think. Thanks.

1/35 scale bottles = 40oz? That is very nice to know, thank you! I've been wondering if I could find anything... I will be using rod for cans, too. But I am happy to know I don't have to carve out a couple bottles.
Any idea's where I can get them? (ordering online)

Unfortunately i don't know! I think i got mine as part of a 1/35th British Centaur by Tamiya,
however, it could have been from any of my military model kits. You might have some luck looking
for a kitchen accessories set or something of the sort.

I'll have a search anyway...

Vlad

edit: Right, my bottles have come from either a Tamiya Centaur or a Churchill, however, i have found
a Korean company, Neo Models (or Neo Grade), that makes coloured/clear resin bottles and boxes at
1/35th scale. Also Verlinden Productions (probably much easier to get hold of) make a bottles etc kit in
1/35th too.
Failing that have a quick look at some kitchen accessories sets.

Hope you get what you're looking for.

Wow, thanks you two! Those sites have a lot of good bits kits... etched metal for most of them too.

I wanted to show you my bigmek's kombi-rokkit launcha I worked up last night. I don't have a rokkit yet. None on the koptas really looked right... but it's got the blast plate already- still blutaked on.

Obviously Tau inspired. I need too find a couple small screws of the right sort to fill in the ball. I'm looking for a good sight for it, too. I'll probably use some tank or Tau suit "camera" bit. I might try to make something for it, too... if I can't find the right bit.

Anyhow, let me know what you think, and thanks for readying.

It never ceases to amaze me what one can do with plasticard! How did you do the grooves? Is it one piece, with the grooves cut out, or multiple pieces stuck together leaving a gap for the grooves? (This was how I did my land speeder pattern wings on my Deffkopta...)

Made in us

It's three layers of plasticard. I cut the basic shape I wanted, then I cut out the panels and left room for grooves.

Plasticard is such an amazing material! When I get some more sheets I'm gonna try making small switches. We shall see how many I successfully glue to my fingers.

Oh, and the round part was kinda tough. I used a round file to make it, but lining it up was tricky. In the end, I had to carve it out a bit with a knife.

How about some sun visors for the cab? Just a realistic touch. You can give the driver aviators too

I was thinking about the sun visors, for over the windshield on the inside right? I just don't think there is room for them. I did want to to them, so I could "rubber band" a post card or map or something in the drivers visor.

The aviators are happening! Great idea. I was trying to think of something to do for the driver. Thanks for thinking of it for me!

If you're going to give the trucker sunglasses then you should go all out and give him a baseball hat, or maybe a cowboy hat. The combo of the glasses and those hats just scream trucker in my opinion.

Excellent! The driver will get a baseball cap and sun glasses. Another trukker ork on the Bigmeks payroll will get a cowboy hat, and aviators. Maybe tucked in a shirt pocket.
It'll be fun making a bunch of trucker orks. I'm going to get to work on some green stuff that I've been putting off. It's mostly cultist gap-filling for my night goblin army, but I'll work on these details too. should be fun!

I'm loving this blog!

Wortgob Gutznik looks really good , the DCCW on his arm makes him look a bit like Barret from FF7!

Consider your idea stolen, good sir..
And now I'm bummed that I've traded off all my AOBR marines, guess I just have to get a fourth box...

Maybe the truck cab could have a hammock hanging near the ceiling at the rear of the cab? I don't know if truckers use those nowadays (or have ever used, for that matter) but I've seen hammocks in old KrAZ trucks. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KrAZ )

Anyway, thanks for a great blog, I'm really enjoying reading it

Thanks, Karl.

@Niilo: Thanks. I was thinking about a hammock. I might have one hanging in the corner. Have it on one hook with another across the cab to stretch it to. I think it will have to wait for the next cab, tho (like the sun visors).

I'm trying to make the most out of the AOBR marines. There is more to work with than I can see yet. The DCCW showed me that. I didn't think it would work originally. about a month or two later I finally noticed, if I just cut of more of his arm...

I'm working on a marine shoulder-pad mega-armoured grot that will probably get some more marine parts before he's done. I'll post some pics once he's got feet.

So, I haven't had much time at all to work on the boyz. I did pick up a box of kroots, though. I managed to cut one up and pose him on an ork bike. I like the way it looks. Now all I need to do is scratch build enough mopeds for a unit... I'm thinking 5 to start with. We'll see how painstaking it is. I do have the frame for one kinda done. I'll post pics when it has a gas tank and seat, if not a motor.

Here's some pics of the kroot biker mockup:

I know.

I'm gonna have a lot of fun with this unit. But he isn't staying on the bike. I'll have to make some "puNch" logos or something.

As a sidebar for this unit: I'm thinking of doing a pigeon color scheme for the kroots. Grey skin (some black some brown, and a rare white one or two) with black claws (pink for the white ones) and purple and green shimmery business for their plume.

*edit* just found the brand for the mopeds: Jawa. It's a company from the 70's, not sure how long they were around or if they still are. Here is a list of pics of mopeds with a (very) little info on each one.
