@whalemusic360: Mission accomplished then!

@monkeytroll: Thanks! All suggestions appreciated - you never know where they might actually turn up!

@Gitsplitta: Can't wait (but I guess I'll have to...)

@The Good Green: Imagine two streaming pennants, one on each Boss Pole - is that Nobish enough? (that is where I am going... eventually...) The toothy blade should just look like a small piece of ornamentation on top of this - not the main event (which is what I had before...)

Yes - I've carved out the SM armour under the blades And yes - they are meant to look like mirror images, or twins, without being exactly the same

You can't see it in these shots, but they have Hermes like wingz on the back of their boots too

And I concur, da Bug Boy is looking fantastic too - and Gitsplitta thought he couldn't compete - bah!

With the way these are turning out...I'm getting super excited and a little nervous for our trade. How can anything I do compete or compare to what you can do? These are magnificent.

I take it the wingz are now more to your liking

If its any consolation - I'm currently trying not to even think about how I'm going to top these two...

Don't be nervous though - the aim of the swap is to do the best you can, perhaps stretching yourself and trying something new. Your best for my best. Do that, and it will be a fair swap

Your models are very much to my liking now.

Don't worry about topping them for me as i was just looking for a regular boy (maybe a big shoota) to trade. If you go all hog wild crazy though....I have something that might wow you! It's already built and just needs some paint.

@Arakasi: Important question for you! Do you want humorous, or serious??

In other words when people look at your bug boy do you want people to chuckle or not?

@Artsoldier35: LOVE your avatar by-the-way!

Da Dark Angelz are pretty serious, usually... but da Bug Boy ain't a Dark Angel (well, not really...) - which is a long way to saying I don't really have a preference - whatever you think is best or that you prefer.

Perhaps I should ask what you have in mind?

Brilliant models, and love the wings. The more understated bosspoles fit in better as well. Nice work!

No pics tonight - GS curing (ended up doing the pennants with GS... its.. okay... will probably look better once I trim it, add bullet holes - the usual Orky stuff )

Bases are done. GS gap filling done. (No more holes in the head!) Didn't get any painting done this week

@Artsoldier35: A regular boy or big shoota would be fine. I have an idea for a big shoota already... Intrigued by what you have already built...

@CommissarKhaine: Thanks - coming from you it means a lot.

@Arakasi: No problem... turns out that the backpack/wing design has changed multiple times and drastically in about 24 hours, so the "humor" option kind of faded when I finally settled down and actually started building. It kind of came full circle for the final build and I think (hope) you'll be happy with the result.

I may or may not make progress because it's Football tonight!! (that's American football to all you goofy kids across the pond). Time to sit with my family in front of the big plasma, BBQ up some chicken wings & much on veggies & dip while I spend the evening screaming at the TV and watching big fething guys pound the living bejeezus out of each other for MY entertainment...

WOOT!!

@Gitsplitta: Ah, the fun of imagination vs reality! I'm sure I will be estatic! Hope you enjoyed the game - even if it wasn't Aussie Rules

@Artsoldier35: The Stormboyz Nob wasn't *supposed* to be a "big" trade I'm sure we'll have fun just determining *what* we end up doing

@The Good Green: Your wish is my command? (Including, hopefully, a better view of how the wingz - all of them - are attached, as requested earlier...)

Good job! Think those pennants will be looking sweet once they've undergone a bit of orkification

Missing those holes in the head though

@monkeytroll: Thanks again! I'll have to put a propa cybork - complete with holey head - in my to do list just for you. Glad you enjoyed the batreps.

@CommissarKhaine: They are indeed

Right, so minor update. I've orkied up the pennants, so the Stormboyz Nobz are ready for their foundation coat - weather willing tomorrow morning... No pics - you are just going to have to trust me for now Also - ages ago, when I was building quickly to 750pts and didn't think having 1/3 of my force in reserve was a bad idea, I quickly put together some Burnas for my Kommandos. Needing only basing, I thought I'd complete them ready for the foundation coat spray tomorrow morning I don't think I've ever put them up here before, so here they are. The left one will eventually just be a normal Burna boy - he's currently with the Kommandos until I do the propa metal Kommando Burna boy, while the other is kitbashed to be a propa Kommando Burna boy. Nothing special here really - but not everyone can be...

Burnas - Front

Burnas - Rear

I have also been making slow process on my painting. Only the skin is highlighted so far, and no washes have yet been applied. So slow! Actually, I think my modelling will be on hold now until my new plastic and super glue arrive...

Shoota

Enjoy!

I fell your pain on the slow paint front. I was gonna take some PIP shots but realised how pitiful one sometimes two layers of green and a couple of different browns spread across a few minis looked. So I'll make like an ostrich and make some more

Have to just say that I'm impressed by the way the green on green looks, generally my attempts at differing shades of the same colour on the same piece generally end up merging a bit. Mainly because of my habit of falling back on bleached bone as a mainstay of my highlights.

The burnas are looking good. And they're quite effective in-game, as I've found out. The dark angel colours are looking good as well, with the old-skool red guns

@CommissarKhaine: Yes - I expect they will do better with numbers (ie more than two in a Kommando mob...) - but not happening anytime soon

@Lord Kaesar II: I am not surprised

@troy_tempest: Thanks! Though I don't think you need to worry about facing him any time soon - he needs some buddies, and they aren't currently on my list...

So I was lacking motivation this evening. Managed to force myself to undercoat the Stormboyz Nobz and Burnas. Dragged myself to tidy up the undercoat where the spray didn't get to. Managed to get enthused enough to start on one of the Rokkit packs - base layer of Dark Angels Green down on one of them. I do like Dark Angels Green It just looks *right*...

I think the motivation problem is with the shoota boyz. I've been following the Black Orc Big Boss Masterclass in WD365 - and I think I overdid step 6 on the skin (wash of Scab Red followed by Ogryn Flesh in recesses). For the armour I've been following the Ask 'eavy Metal in WD369 for Disciples of Caliban - what *is* the difference between washing with thinned down Chaos Black vs Badab Black wash Anyway, I think my highlight on the clothing/armour is still too severe. I'll try to post some pics up tomorrow night...

Tonight I still need to find Orky exhausts to photo for whalemusic360's Deffwing Deff Dread he is doing for me as part of the Great Marine Swap. Given my lack of pics this evening, and his lack of posting them here (you are welcome to!), I'd highly recommend heading over that way and taking a look - and leaving a comment. (Which reminds me, I should add my own comments from our PMs )

tony_nids_10 - if you're reading this - I sent you a PM re our upcoming swap. If I don't hear a reply before I get my new glue, I'll start talking to Artsoldier35

Over and out!
